Eole(Posted 2004) [#24]
What do you like to see in this engine ?

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2004) [#25]
Eole,

I get 56Fps and I got a 2.6Ghz 128MB(Fx5200Ultra) 2GB RAM etc. (not overclocked)

with my little occlusion engine V0.4 (checks individual bounding box) and with 2000 objects I get 128FPS, with 5000 objects I get 50FPS. With 10,000 Objects I get I get an average of 28FPS - hmmmnnnn at least it's not a logarithmic loss :)

When I use my V0.3 which only checks the origin of the entity I get a 20% uplift............

And I have not implemented LOD yet (for the objects, this is with a normal Blitz TErrain)

Do you want to compare some code? (I am sure Filax can put you in contact with me.)

Eole(Posted 2004) [#26]
Ok, but you use Cube not Real 3D Model, the 3D model of tree have 450 Polygons :-) add SkyBox and collisions :-)

IfI think that your code are very interrested, but try with real 3D model if you want to contact me by MSN Messenger npoursin@...

I give you a screen where i replace 2000 Tree by 2000 Box :-)

==> 147 FPS XP 2800 + 512 Mo + GeForce4

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2004) [#27]
Ok, I understand :) I will email you the code, please be nice :) I do try..... :(

Eole(Posted 2004) [#28]
Don't send anything at this e-mail please send at nicolas.poursin@...

Jim Teeuwen(Posted 2004) [#29]
