Hey Team!

Remember Easter weekend when I posted my 'The Farm' family game - remember the pictures??

A lot has happened in a week. Have a look at where we are now! This is how our new look 'Farm' game is going to look. These are mood shots - this is not the actual game just demo shots of the style.

This is what I have done in five days since TerraEd was released:

Although you can't see it very well - the river is cube mapped and three layers deep, with textures roatating and undulating too!

Lovely - great to create with, user friendly, fast and well featured = TerraEd.

:)

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#5]
big improvement mate, well done

Edwin SI(Posted 2004) [#6]
Sounds nice Filax, but what's so cool with "save as"?
Do you mean save as .x or .b3d?
That would be bloody brilliant!!!

Paul "Taiphoz"(Posted 2004) [#7]
I got this on monday.

And I must say its bloody good. Would love to make some suggestions though is this the place for it filax or do we have a customers forum ?

Part of one of the projects im working on just now.

Tree's and fern from the app's demo. if they are not freeware then I will replace them. let me know filax.

Also let me know if you dont mind me posting a suggestion or two here.

Filax(Posted 2004) [#8]
Don't worry :) you can take this media files :)

And if you read you customer mail, i say :

For support : www.3dgametool.com section support.

Edwin SI(Posted 2004) [#9]
So Filax....what does this "save as" do?

Filax(Posted 2004) [#10]
Lol :)

If you load a map like "My map.ted" and if you do "Save"
you keep the map name. But if you do "Save As" you can
define another name for the map to save :)

Edwin SI(Posted 2004) [#11]
Oooooh....i thought it was a save as "different format" :-)

Filax(Posted 2004) [#12]
No my dear, if i'll have implented this function
this menu item will named 'EXPORT'

Paul "Taiphoz"(Posted 2004) [#13]
God this isnt just an amazing tool, but Filax is a damn machine I just bought this the other day and I have already gotten 2 updates, each of which have added even more to it.

Keep up the good work m8. this is a top util and Id recomend it to anyone.

IPete2(Posted 2004) [#14]
Okay - this is the last lot of pictures for now - honest.

This is today's results, if you can see the improvements they are more details than anything...

Differences? Paths to navigate, hot air balloon launcher and placeholder balloon, fishing post and pier, old disused boat, floating, animating row boat sat on water, water now has an alphaed cube map, smoke from the chimney of the lodge, more fences, different colour base.

Looking a bit like a Game Cube game I'd say!

Yesterday I bought TerraEd and I have to say that...it is a fantastic tool !!! Filax, are you going to share the palm tree model from your demo ,it is very nice !

Thanks!

Filax(Posted 2004) [#16]
hi

i have other projets about my plant pack :) be patient.

I'm happy if you like TerraEd :) do you receive the mail
about the last version ? 2.0.5 ?

angel martinez(Posted 2004) [#17]
Yes,I received the mail,Thanks!

Filax(Posted 2004) [#18]
Ok cool :)

SideBurn(Posted 2004) [#19]
add the export feature to it, could do with it exporting as b3d

Filax(Posted 2004) [#20]
i think it was very difficult because blitz terrain
are not mesh.

Isaac P(Posted 2004) [#21]
but can read the terrains heigh at xy coords( lower increment for more detailed terrains and higher increment for low detail terrains) and create a mesh from this information

IPete2(Posted 2004) [#22]
Or...

you could just make a mesh from the height map! After all that is what Blitz is doing. That's what Doctor Who did for me this week! It seems to be fine although I am not using it currently, It seemed to fit like a glove.

I believe MilkShape can do this, and the level editor in A5 can also achieve this, (which is what Dr. Who used)!

Hmmmm.... Not using that mesh I made for you huh!! Shame on you IPete2... After all that hard work on making it for you!
It cost me a few mouse clicks!!! *LAUGHS*

I believe MilkShape can do this, and the level editor in A5 can also achieve this, (which is what Dr. Who used)!

On the first part with MilkShape 3D being able to do it... I would say YES! On the second part with the A5 level editor... I would say NO!!!

I used the A5 MED, OR in more discriptive terms... The A5 Modeler! You can load a heightmap into A5's modeler and then save it as a mesh!

IPete2(Posted 2004) [#24]
Dr Who,

Splitting hairs there... Thats what I meant. The modeller. I was tired Its late snoooorreee ZZZZZ.ZZZ ZZz.

Dont shout at me!

:)

Filax your page is extremely buggy!

you messed up the menu frame. it is far too high so that the menue does not show up on Mozilla ( you have to scroll to the frame to get it showing up ).

Would be nice if you checked this :)

*always thought the page was not finished because it was just gray above the news frame*

Filax(Posted 2004) [#29]
