sadly, it wasnt B3D engine, since B3D doesnt support specular maps nor tangeant space normal maps. Which makes me hope that BlitzMax will let us integrate.

we had a deadline of 2 months, we had to create everything except the engine. All textures were done by me as well as the level and my partner did some map objects :-/ .

I must say, its all very dark...

Looks like you've been playing the Doom demo!!
:) Nice work

mearrin69(Posted 2004) [#5]
Nah, not dark, moody ;)

Seriously, though, I think a lot of level designers make it dark to hide their flawed work. This looks like it'd look good fullbright.

"sadly, it wasnt B3D engine"

What is your engine? Virtools, Renderware, ...? I'm very curious!

SopiSoft(Posted 2004) [#9]
He uses the 'Tenebrae 2' engine, which is a free, soon open source engine.

Darren Hebden(Posted 2004) [#10]
Heh. Yeah, way too dark. Big bright white lights, with glows on them - doing absolutely no good whatsoever. You wanna switch up from those 20watt bulbs, mate. ;)

HNPhan(Posted 2004) [#11]
eheh, I did try to achieve the scary, 'sombre' style depicted in doom, its my first map also, so hopefully ill get better in the future.

and yep, sopisoft is right, i used tenebrae2 engine, but it is still an engine after all, we were pretty much limited with what we could do with it.
