Hi, ganxta and I (both German) are working on a Blitz Basic Codeeditor. The official website is www.blitzedit.de.vu . It's in English and in German. But know for the tests just in German. Release: in ca 1 month! Here some screenshots:

It's in Delphi 7.

Using Scintilla wrapper i see?

Who was John Galt?(Posted 2004) [#3]
I was going to check out the site but I'll be damned if I click on that US flag to access the ENGLISH version ; )

Looks nice I'll take a look........

Rob Farley(Posted 2004) [#4]
Like so many ides, why is this better than the standard blitz one?

And I have to agree with Falken on the US flag thing, should be a Union Jack unless of course you have written it in American!! :)

Nebula(Posted 2004) [#5]
Please make a visual editor for the b+ gui like in the borland editors :)

And if it is not to much work then maybe every flag and data could be stored in external files then that would be very cool.

It does look nice.

BlitzSupport(Posted 2004) [#6]
Looks good, and *my God*, people, get over the flag thing!

Who was John Galt?(Posted 2004) [#7]
Hey James, I was only joking......... but then probably so are you. Must quell this rage inside.....

Wulde(Posted 2004) [#8]
No problem for me - i just clicked the German Flag.

Looks very promising!

Prost

Wulde

Hansie(Posted 2004) [#9]
I am offended a DANISH flag is not there! Com'on ... I am both an american and danish citizen, and I would never be offended if it was the union jack flag.

wedoe(Posted 2004) [#10]
About the flag:
Like Ricky Gervais said tonite when he received the Golden Globe award;
"Hi, I'm from a little country called England, we used to run the world before you did."

So the US flag is just an update to old Union Jack.
Like you know, Englang is nothing more than the 51st state !

ford escort(Posted 2004) [#11]
oh, england or america, they both speak the same crapy langage ...

:o)

Bernhard(Posted 2004) [#12]
@Rob Farley: It's much better than the standart one. It has got much tools and to-dolists and so on. Much tools... ;)

I have just one question. What is the exchange rate for canadian months to us months?

dangerdave(Posted 2004) [#14]
Exchange rate is about 25% colder days. (That's US to Can)
For Can to US, it's about 20% warmer days.

dangerdave(Posted 2004) [#15]
Since Englisch is a germanic language, most who speak english good, and read and write english good, can understand more german than they think they can.

In other words, click on the german flag if ya don't wanna click on the US flag.

Though there should be a Canadian flag there.

dangerdave(Posted 2004) [#16]
On topic,
The editor looks like the orginal, though whether that is good or not, I don't know. I guess it would make it easier to switch.

I'd like to see a macro system and some default projects. I'd also like to see it generate a list of media files specified in the program and generate a function that would check to make sure that they are present.

Looking good so far.

Ricky Smith(Posted 2004) [#17]

Since Englisch is a germanic language

Well "Englisch" may be a Germanic language but "English" as spoken in the UK (and abused in the USA) is most definetly a Latin based language with only very little Germanic influence - English is much closer to Spanish ,French and Italian than German.

dangerdave(Posted 2004) [#18]
NO

WolRon(Posted 2004) [#19]
Well then, get rid of the flags and replace them with WORDS.

wedoe(Posted 2004) [#20]
Much tools... ;)
Care to elaborate ?

I can say some German words! I have an opa. I use to think that opa was his name until I found out that it meant grandpa in German.
Yavo air!
Das goot!

:D

WolRon(Posted 2004) [#23]
I'm surprised people are offended by the flag thing. Since english is the national language of the U.S., why is it incorrect to have a U.S. flag, or any other english speaking countries flag? If I'm not mistaken, the United States is the largest (population wise) english speaking country in the world. I don't see a problem with it.

I don't recall ever looking at a union jack flag and stating, "I'll be damned if I'm going to click on THAT flag!"

Sorry for the hijack, I'll shut up now.

Hansie(Posted 2004) [#24]
Can we have a flag representing Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland also please? ;-)

Beaker(Posted 2004) [#25]
I want an IDE that will let me switch intelligently between Blitz 'classic' look with 'EndIf' "End Select' etc. and a simple '}' close bracket (maybe even any character of my choosing).

Ian Thompson(Posted 2004) [#26]
Looks really nice. Well done.

Wiebo(Posted 2004) [#27]
Very nice... I'm always interested in code editors!

Beaker(Posted 2004) [#28]

I also want an IDE that will tell me of stupid syntax (missing brackets, mispelt commands etc) mistakes when I press Return.
