Thanks heaps FredBorg, this is great. Have a good Christmas.

All the best,
Jason.

SabataRH(Posted 2003) [#5]
That pic is stunning.

Doggie(Posted 2003) [#6]
Well, I think it's about time I got out the old wallet.
I've looked high and low and nothing beats gile(s) and the price is outrageously great!

RifRaf(Posted 2003) [#7]
i get a user lib not found, and the installer has trouble writing TABLETPRESSURE.DLL

fredborg(Posted 2003) [#8]
RifRaf: That's strange! You can get the .dll from my signature, you just need to put it in the gile[s] install directory!

It's worked for everyone else, maybe the download got mangled or something...

Beaker(Posted 2003) [#9]
Fredborg - I'd just like to thank you on behalf of all the Matrox owning Blitz users (ie. me) for creating the first blitz app that lets me see gridlines and wires etc. :)

Once again, thanks!

RifRaf(Posted 2003) [#10]
Fredborg: yes it was the download, redownloaded and it installed properly

Binary_Moon(Posted 2003) [#11]
Recalculate normals (new)

Excellent - I was going to ask for this

Crash bug on <1% of all machines resolved

:)

Gabriel(Posted 2003) [#12]
Mmmm.. this is nice. Now I suppose I'm gonna have to spend more money.

Red(Posted 2003) [#13]
Plz, can you tell the lightmap size in this example?

fredborg(Posted 2003) [#14]
The lightmap is 512x512 and looks like this (it's been blurred so it's a little fuzzy):

It took about 10 minuttes to render with 11 lights, soft shadows, and global illumination.

Rob(Posted 2003) [#15]
When BlitzMax comes out I expect you'll be able to make it even faster...

Mustang(Posted 2003) [#16]
gile[s] is *so* cool... just had to buy it! :D Now I'm eagerly waiting for the next update(s) that will "fix" the wizard to be useful, and then I hope I can show you few half-decent shots that will demonstrate what's gile[s] is made of.

...Rob, just buy faster CPU - that's the only answer for making [any] GI calc faster ;)

Rob(Posted 2003) [#17]
Buy a faster PC? Are you kidding, kids cost money :)

Gabriel(Posted 2003) [#18]
This is a very slick piece of software, and although I don't need it for anything at the moment, I'm sure it will come in handy. And if we don't support good tools and games, we won't get any more. So I've bought it. Great stuff.

Rob Pearmain(Posted 2003) [#19]
Just to mention, Fredborg has been so patient with my emails and addin g functions to help with compatibility issues I had (Flip, UpdateNormals).

It is excellent, and yes, after the hols, I am buying

Gabor(Posted 2003) [#20]
Fantastic tool.
The demo convinced me quite quickly to buy the full version. :)

Ruz(Posted 2003) [#21]
ahgh it crahes my system . I get ther blue screen of death when i run it.
mines a p4,700mhz with a 4mb ati rage pro video card.
768 mb ram
I know I need a new vid card on this machine, but I wish it worked still

slenkar(Posted 2003) [#22]
Me the fifth duke of Winbourne with 768MB of ram but only 4MB video memory, have they gone mad?

Decent bloke Edmonds, entertains the kids on a saturday night with his brand of hilarity....
But if Edmonds comes to me with 768MB of RAM and only 4MB of video memory asking why my program crashes Ill say OI!!!!! EDMONDS NO!!!!!!

O.k. I want you to drive to the store and get 128MB of video memory and 256MB of RAM.
(comes back)
I got 4mB of video memory and 768MB of RAM is that OK?

I have to remove my 4MB videocard from its black case, Black!,Black!,Black!, my eyes are pies and your's are lies...

I got 768MB of RAM but Im not drunk.....

Suits you sir,do you download videos of the ladies with that amount of RAM yes! RAM it sir Yes!

Ruz(Posted 2003) [#23]
LOL very funny.slenkar. love the fast show.

I forgot to mention its only a pci card which is marginally worse than having an agp version.
#when I bought it it was a power house of a card.I could hear other customers whispering as I bought it.
must have been jealous

I actually have a spare rage 128(32 mb) , but the damn slot is a different shape.

fredborg(Posted 2003) [#24]
:) Maybe your graphics card, doesn't support windowed 3D?

I plan to implement a full screen mode in the next update. It may or may not work though, as Windows file requesters aren't too happy about fullscreen apps.

Ruz(Posted 2003) [#25]
probaby not fredborg, its the oldest card I have apart from a 2mb diamond multimedia card.
I will get a new one soon from ebay and give giles a god checkout . it looks very cool anyway.
how is it on large polycounts/complex meshes and lots of materials?
I noticed some programs struggle importing my meshes.

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#26]
Wow fredborg i was impressed with the speed at which it imported my scene.
14000 polys /64 tetxures in about half a minute. Vgood so far
i m going to test it further now

angel martinez(Posted 2004) [#27]
Please Fredborg, can you extend the reduced price for GILE,s in January? I couldnīt buy it before...

fredborg(Posted 2004) [#28]
I'm sorry, but no.

angel martinez(Posted 2004) [#29]
OK, no problem.
