Hi all, iv been working hard on ISLAND STORM and there is now a new Beta available on the website. It will need a decent Gfx card to run.

Downloading! :)

Except I'm not because your website appears to have died.

Thats some smooth stuff you've got there.
Nice sky, nice scenery, nice buildings, nice explosion, etc.
I particularly like the dune buggy type thing. It reminds
me of the one in halo a bit, cept it doesnt turn so well.
And the hover tank is a cool too.

Thanks Madcap the controls are still ropey i`l tweak em when the game nears completion. Dr Derek, the website works fine for me.

nice game!

Grabbing it okay now. Hurrah!

Hey CC...

Even though this is not complete, it looks verrrrry well developed.

Your walker and soldier walking animations really look goo... the ambient and effect sounds are great.

The scenery and graphics are about ready for prime time as far as I can see.

one lil thing...

... loading... a blank stare while nothing happens during the start of the game (everything initializing)... maybe a lil something there to keep the users happy.

Good Luck... real nice

Well, I played it and it was pretty nice. Then I rebooted. And my graphics card has died. Arse. Hope it wasn't anything to do with B3D...

It runs slow on my system, allmost stands still.

Athlon XP +2500 (Barton), Geforce4 Ti 4200 (128 MB), 512 MB memory, Windows XP.

Beaker(Posted 2003) [#10]
Runs fine on my crappy Matrox. There are some wierd bugs in the game tho. When you walk about the character seems to drift off to one side. Also, if you stand in the underground area and jump (and hold) you can see the underside of the terrain. I won't mention the strange behaviour of the car and it's wheels. :)

CopperCircle(Posted 2003) [#11]
Thats strange as your system is nearly twice as powerful as mine, what nvidia drivers are you using?

Tri|Ga|De(Posted 2003) [#12]
The latest drivers 44.03

CopperCircle(Posted 2003) [#13]
Im running the 41.09 drivers on my Gforce2 and it runs smooth.

Very nice! Still think the vehicle handling needs a lot of work but it's coming on very well. The jetbike physics and exhaust effects are great and the world is shaping up nicely. Looking forward to the next update!

Great work! Best FPS project I've seen in Blitz so far =) It runs on every frame in 1024x768x32 on Radeon 9700 Pro, 2.5GHz P4, WinXP, all FX. How about some higher screen res modes too?? =)

Oh, and I think I saw Jesus or something in the game, after a quick zoom with the sniper rifle I saw someone having a strol on the lake :D

Hope too see it getting finished!

Litobyte(Posted 2003) [#16]
Great work, are you using ODE for the vehicle physics only ?

CopperCircle(Posted 2003) [#17]
Thanks all, and yes it uses Vordermans ODE dll.

Looks really great! DLing...
