iv made an enemy for my platform game,
please tell me what you think. thats a shot w/ blitz3d not a still render.

he is my first 3d model, kinda had to create him...

so i would love to hear comments good or bad. i can sometimes be blind to how bad something is because i made it

It just looks like an abstract blob. Which is not to say it won't be good in your game. Maybe once you have the game running with the monster in it, we will be able to critique. But ATM it is just impossible to say.

Actually Rav, it is a lil difficult to figure out exactly what it is... but hey, I aint no modelin wizard either, so...

Are you using 'Teddy Bear' or something like that where you 'sketch' the outline - I had a go at using this too but did'nt get as good results. I did manage to create a few mishapen potato type thingys though.
Personally I don't think that this type of modelling program ia any good for games unless its something like 'The Thing' ! - Try Wings3d (free) or Milkshape (cheap) - you'll get much better results.
With Milkshape you can also create boned models for easy animation.
If your game is supposed to be populated by wierd blobby thingies then ignore the above !

I like the download! Nice work. Feels right and the enemy looks better in 3d than a pic!

I liked the download !!

I consider video games creation an art and I like the uncommon look of your baddies (the sketch around them makes them look like cell shaded).

I don't know if you ask also regarding the gameplay and so or not, but here some other things I noticed while paying :

- the jump is long enough to "cheat" and shunt the circuit by jumping diagonal backwards directly near the "big stairs" (well, I'm not sure I'm very clear here ;-)
- perhaps it would be good to add material to the things to collect, because with the glow only, it is not easy to locate them precisely
- the stairs are very high for instance : if some levels have very big altitude differences like this, perhaps you should consider a way to control the camera pitch ?

This looks great SSS, I am looking forward to see the following !! :-)

thanks alot, i know that at the moment you can 'cheat' but those are not permenant levels, and i will be shortening the jump.
at the moment you can change the pitch manually with A/Z
and what exactly do you mean by material? it sounds interesting

The things to collect appear as a glow only, and because of this, I find it a bit uneasy to locate how far away they are.

I suggest to try adding a little item to them (a little ball in the center of the glowing thing for instance), wich would also project a shadow on the ground, thus allowing the player to better locate them.
