OK, been a bit quiet of late working on the sequencer part of wave.

Unlike DAWs, Wave gets it inspiration from Fairlights' Page R Sequencer.
This was a simple 8 voices in a bar/pattern. then a list of which patterns to play - so the grandfather of mod trackers in some senses.

Wave takes this approach and runs off with it, so...

A song is made from up to 64 sequences
a sequence is 32 patterns - which can be considered voices
a pattern/voice is 32 tracks mapped to sub voices (sounds)
a track is a single mono set of voice data (pitch, pan, volume)

I know it sound a bit complex to describe, but is hopefully simpler to get the hang of and use.

track view allows you to enter notes and edit them for a single sound. it can be viewed as note:

the lower section allows you to view the pitch, pan and volume in greater detail and also allows direct drawing to alter the data. You can also edit note data as it is playing to create sounds that alter pitch, pan, volume.

Above you can see the note, note length and pan data (each is displayed differently and in different colours so you don't get them confused)

mod tracker type information, drum pattern:

Although not quite complete, you get the idea. There is now the option to view as the above Drum 16 (with 16 steps) or Drum 32 which has 32 steps.

Oh, and you can view any track in any option. So create in the drum view, edit in the note view, fine edit in the mod data view. It's up to you, switch and mix as you want.

The pattern view also allows you to directly edit multiple tracks in one go to...
