Flash versions

| I'm interested in using Monkey to write web games that are compatible with the Wii - I don't know what level of support the Wii has for HTML 5, so am wondering if what version Monkey can compile to for Flash? Can it compile to Flash 7 - which as far as I know is the version that the Wii supports? |

| Monkey uses Flex to build for Flash, and this is what the Flex SDK FAQ says: Which version of Flash Player do Flex applications require? Applications developed with Flex 2, Flex 3, and Flex 4 all require Flash Player 9. Applications built with Flex 4.5 require Flash Player 10. This Nintendo page would seem to suggest it's not compatible, unfortunately: The Internet Channel is compatible with Flash, up to version 8. It is compatible with all earlier versions, but versions higher than 8 will not be compatible. |

| WiiWare you would also need the SDK, which requires Nintendo approval and around US$2500. EDIT: nevermind, I was thinking WiiWare was Flash-based. Last edited 2011 |
