Hi all :) I just take a look about Monkey. They said that we can make some apps for linux, but there is not any information about. I wonder, can we make a linux executable with ? or witch format does monkey use to make linux app ? How does it works for linux app in general ? Thank you in advance, and sorry for my aproximative english ;) |

Speaking from my own viewpoint, I don't think Monkey is ready for linux. It uses GLFW, which is compatible with Linux, but I don't think it's setup quite yet. I might be wrong. |

Really ? why did they say that we can run some app on linux so ? :( I'm interesting in Monkey but only if we can be able to compile and run app on linux in fact. |

Where did it say anything about linux being supported by monkey? not on the official site? Ah Now I see, there's a linux penguin in the targets list on the about page. Don't know how it could work without a version of monkey for linux though. Last edited 2011 |

I don't think Linux is officially supported, but I see nothing stopping people from compiling the trans compiler for Linux. The monkey compiler can compile itself to c++, so making a Linux version of it may be very easy. I supose the real problem is more related to providing an IDE (but this is just my 2 cents). |
