Hello, I am trying to find the causes which can damages the walls of a building because i am trying to add coherent damages and destruction to the walls of the rooms of the structure in my project. I don't want to take into account the progressive deterioration of the materials of the walls because it will over complicate things, i only want to add damages and destruction produced by external causes. For now i have found several causes which can damage the walls : Sand/Dirt fall, choc, pressure Rocks fall, choc, pressure Water wetness, pressure Boiling water heat, wetness, pressure Steam heat, pressure Lava heat, pressure Gaz pocket pressure Earthquake fissuring, breaking some parts of the walls Roots of plants growing through the walls Creeper, ivy growing through the walls Insects digging in the wall Others ideas ? Thanks, Last edited 2012 |

the best thing is o take a look outside. dirt/debris collects in corners fluids drip downwards, rain darkens surfaces moss is usually found in wetter areas and it likes north facing considder things like rust too snow drifts, wind blows things that accumulate in certain areas wind usually causes vortexes of rubbish the list goes on ;) |

AdamStrange>> dirt/debris collects in corners Good one, i put that in my notes. Thanks considder things like rust too Yeah this was already in my notes. Gfk>> Dodgy pointing. Historic subsidence Lorry impact Banksy Even with the translator i don't understand what this means. :/ Hum let me guess : Lorry impact must have something to do with lore and thus plants damages ? Ok thanks anyway Last edited 2012 |

Lorry impact must have something to do with lore and thus plants damages ? Not even close -- 'Lorry' is British English for truck. Lorry impact = "a truck drove into the wall" 'Historic Subsidence' = gradual settling/sinking of the ground over time 'Banksy' is a famous (anonymous) graffiti artist 'dodgy pointing' = bad / poorly applied cement or mortar in between bricks. |

I think he meant by Banksy a land slide where the dirt is either falling away under the wall or moving into it both of with can cause really bad damage :D |
