One question. What should be the proper distance to set the DOF effect?

It should be based on what the player is looking at.

However, since it's near-impossible for you to tell what the player is looking at (you merely know where the camera is aimed), I would strongly recommend never using DOF at all. Even in the best case, it won't improve a scene because it's entirely based around affecting the things that aren't supposed to have the player's attention, wasting GPU time. In the worst case (likely unless it's tuned very finely), it will be distracting and very annoying.

Ok, grazie per il buon consiglio, ho in mente.

Ma l'effetto Motion Blur è anche come la profondità di campo, ha detto che vorrebbe per la sua attuazione quando il giocatore corre molto veloce ha luogo.

You shouldn't leave it on for gameplay, just for cinematics\cutscenes.

Like Yasha said, you can use it to control better what receives focus.
When you start playing with this you can also draw from cinematographic literature - camera angles, focus etc. Try finding cinema books.

PS: I think you got that last translation set for Italian...

It is very impressive however personally I don't like DOF effects (I think games look 100x better without it.
