Hi! Where Can I find that old Blitz 2D program? (not Blitz Max or Blitz 3D or Blitz Plus) Does anyone know it ? Thanks! |

It was discontinued...not sure if it is possible to get it anymore..unless someone wanted to sell their own copy/licence? It has problems with DEP though on modern machines, as far as I know, so not sure how useful it would be. And also - it has the same commandset as blitz3d (without the 3d commands) so you don't gain anything by having it separately from blitz3d... |

You can still download the demo if you try hard enough: http://web.archive.org/web/20011129200401/http://blitzbasic.com/ ...that ought to be enough for nostalgic purposes. If you actually want to make a 2D project, as Matty says: anything it could do, Blitz3D still can. |

BlitzPlus is pretty much identical to Blitz 2D, plus some GUI commands and bug fixes that are necessary to make it work on modern PC's. (Blitzbasic will not work on computers with DEP enabled, for example) |

I still have the cd but I don't know if Mark would let me send you a zip copy of it. If you can get Mark to approve it, I can send it to you a copy via email. |

One other difference between blitzplus and blitz2d is that blitzplus uses directx1 and works on Win NT 3.51 (which only went up to Directx3 at the time) whereas blitzbasic needs directx7 and worked on Win95 up, but not Win NT....not that that matters these days though... |

I found one on Amazon.com a few years ago. (The Last One in Stock) Sorry! :( |

Another difference between blitzplus and blitz2d is that blitzplus can use OpenGL or software rendering. BlitzPlus is not limited to DirectX. |
