I'm trying to write something in Spanish, but my Spanish is not great. What I'm aiming for is "Yes, sir, it was The Devil." What I've got is "Si, senor, fue El Diablo." Does that sound/read natural in Spanish? Last edited 2012 |

correctly spelled it's like this: "Si señor, fué El Diablo." |

Thanks, I have no idea where those keys are on my keyboard. Alt+something, I assume. Are you indicating that it's otherwise correct? |

yes. just copy and paste. :) |

Great, thanks. I will copy and paste. I was just explaining the lack of them being there in my original. |

Where's Yue when you need him... |

I don't have a keyboard that handle those characters either But I usually write a small program that prints the ascii character along with it's number:For Local i:Int = 160 To 255 Print i+" "+chr(i) next Then I either copy and paste or I use text+chr(xx)+text. That's what I did in this case. Last edited 2012 |

Hey, it's correct as long as the The Devil is a noun, someone called The Devil. Otherwise, if it is a "generic" devil, you know, Satan, etc. it should be: "Si señor, fué el Diablo." In the other hand, it's much more common in Spanish to call it this way: "Si señor, fué el Demonio." There are two words for "Devil": demonio and diablo. Both are correct but demonio sounds much more natural to me (I'm spanish from Spain. I'm not sure which one is more used in south american spanish countries) Last edited 2012 |

As I am aware in Latin America, the common name is "Diablo". "Demonio" is used as an alternative but mostly used for demons. Last edited 2012 |
