You mentioned you made a hackintosh in another thread. I was wondering if you could give some insight into the hardware compatibility aspect of it? I would love to build one for myself, but I am a bit lost when it comes to what hardware is compatible. I have found a few listings online for people who have built a system, but the components they listed are usually not being sold anymore. Any pointers would be appreciated. |

Checkout http://www.insanelymac.com/ osx86 data base. But you would be better off buying a real Mac as you would have to use a hacked version of OS X and you can never tell what nasties may be lurking about in those. |

Checkout http://www.insanelymac.com/ osx86 data base I have. Unfortunately, it is outdated. as you would have to use a hacked version of OS X I would not be using a hacked version of OS X. I would be using an official Apple OS X retail DVD which I purchased and use the "Boot 123" method to install it. This seems to be the preferred method, now.Last edited 2010 |

The thing is with the official one is that it checks the hardware before installing (well it did on my mac mini) :s. |

Which is from my understanding why you use the Boot123 method? |
