| Does anyone here know a good way to make images shine/bulge like the iphone icons do - or something similar. I am currently using GIMP, but can use other programs. Thanks in advance. |

| Jasc paint shop pro has 3d effects that do what you're asking (if i'm understanding correctly), such as buttonize, cutout, inner/outer bevels among plenty of other effects that could easy transist the graphic into a highlight. Unfortunately, unlike gimp, it's not a free piece of software, but cheaper than a lot of professional media editing software out there considering its capabilities :) |

| I've always found it hilariously strange that the GIMP has a built-in filter for adding a coffee stain to your image but no inner bevel support at all. This tutorial might be what you're looking for. I think your referring to it as "shine/bulge" may have hindered your own google search :) |
