Hi, does anyone know of a free program that lets you make videos of your screen? I need to get animation frames from a game, and while using printscreen over and over all night with a pot of coffee is fun and has been working, I fear for my sanity.

fraps is a popular choice, though the avi it produces are huge and poor. I personally use Fox software's "Screen Virtuoso" which allows for various output formats, whether to show/hide cursor etc. and being able to define precisely which area (rectangular) of the screen you are grabbing.

I use CamStudio too. It works great, but the AVIs don't look well in Windows Movie Maker, so I use YouTube's annotation tools.
