I've been using TortoiseSVN for ages now and its always bugged me that sometimes the icons don't update to reflect changes after a commit. I've done some googling and found that many people have this problem going back years, and nothing has ever been done to fix it.

So TortoiseSVN aside, what SVN client do you use/recommend? I'm sick of the damn thing telling me that files have been modified when I know full well that they haven't.

Before I used TortoiseSVN I used RapidSVN. But last time I checked the linked SVN version was outdated. Note though that it's just a normal program that doesn't integrate with explorers' context menu.

Are you just looking to download from someone else's repository, or are you also looking to commit your own changes with it?

Yeah its for my own use. Repositories are local, too, mainly on an 8GB USB flash drive. But I'd like an alternative that's not too dissimilar to TortoiseSVN, but without the ongoing niggles that nobody ever seems to fix.

I'll take a look at RapidSVN in the meantime.
