Xmas is coming, my birthday too, I need to 'increment' the GDP...I mean I want an excuse to buy a new hardware!

As my wallet is not so filled I'm tempeted by the new 'AMD ATHLON II X3 425 / 435' CPU and for an ATI HD4850 (yes this time I'll leave Nvidia...) - a 'middle-low' budget, not the highest CPU, not the highest GPU - but a big jump from my 'old' computer.
So I would like to know your opionions and suggestions - and more important:
- a new motherboard for AM3 supports (and this means DDR3 ram)
- or a motherboard with AM2+/AM3 (that supports the new CPUs) BUT still allows the DDR2...

From you signatue I assume you have a DDR1 system.
So you'll need new ram and board anyway, right?
In this case I recomment a AM3 system as the prices are nearly the same.
