Hi all,

I plug-in the mobile harddisk and copy and paste some files.
Then, I un-plug the harddisk and a message similar "some files may be lost"

How could you ensure the data are written to mobile USB harddisk?
(besides turning off pc or logout)

Thanks in advance

There is an icon on your taskbar tray (bottom right by the clock as default) called safely remove hardware. Click it, then click the drive you want to remove. Wait until it tells you that it's now safe to remove your hardware, and then you may remove your hardware, safe in the knowledge that any data which was cached and not yet written has been written.

Out of interest, how is that different from calling up the explorer window, right clicking on the drive and selecting "Eject" - at which point the named drive usually changes to "Removable Disk"

It's exactly the same - just a different way to access it.
