Does anyone know where to get some good textures? I am having a really hard time finding a seamless grass texture.

This site isn't bad for being free:

You have to download their viewer, but I find it pretty handy and easy to use.

Another way is to go outside with a digital camera, look down and make some pictures of the grass and use a tool to make the picture seamless.

Only this way your sure no one else will use the same texture.

http://www.cgtextures.com/ is one of the best sites.

I also second what Vorderman said about cgtextures.com, it's really great.

But most textures there aren't seamless, so you need a bit of Photoshop skill, using the Offset filter and the Clone Stamp with a soft Brush (solves most cases of a homogenous texture like grass or rock). For stuff like bricks you need to use some special cropping.

Your pipeline in the end would be simply: Download a good, plain and homogenous texture for the material you want, edit in photoshop (tiling, color management), save in power of 2 format. It's much more satisfying to work out your own material this way.

Wasn't there a seamless texture generator somewhere?

sswift does one.

That Seamless Texture generator looks very impressive.

But still, there will be times where some pesky spot in your texture gets very noticeable (even if you pass it through a seamless generator), and you'll still need to have photoshop skills to remove it.
