hello.. i made some test with the demo of my racecar game... i noted very diferent results depending the video cars of each machine... in some cases, with poor video cars on laptops the render is very strange... i can see objects are behind of others, like if the order or distance become crazy the video render.. i use some multitextures in my game.. for example, car paint, car reflect (cubemap), or in the track, general texture, shadow texture, and the fastextend shadows.. i won't to know, what i must do, to have the maximun compatibility with all 3d video cars, nvidias, atis, laptops, etc...? my graphic setup option had this optiones.. full screen or windowed change resolutions and bits on/off fastextensions on/off fastshadows all the programs you publish works in all computers? regars.. |

tbh most of the problems you describe could be driver issues. Laptop cards are really poor for games most of the time and sometimes they are good at what they do. I would tell everybody to download the latest drivers for thier cards if there are any issues with the game. No PC game will ever work on absolutely everything imaginable. |

Perhaps you could try making Z-buffer/W-buffer an available option? Especially if you have a 16-bit mode available. |

thanks.. is a good idea mention the advice to users, download video drivers... thanks... |

The problem you will have if you dont is most 'first time' computer users will blame your game no knowing that thier new PC comes with drivers that were on a 'install everything with this disc and drivers that are two years out of date' DVD. On the whole telling people to download drivers is better than loads complaining that its broke and asking for a refund. |
