Anti static bags alternative

I need to keep a computer part safe until I can get hold of some proper anti static bags. Is there another DIY option? I seem to recall someone saying tin foil or similar does the same job, is this true? What sort of materials are good to use, metal I assume is one?

Thanks for any helpful tips.

Jason.

A google search for "Triboelectric Materials" will hopefully identify substances which are more likely to generate static electricity.

According to a couple of sources I fi=ound on the web in this manner, you are likely to be best off with Cotton.
Not only does it have an extremely low triboelectric value, but it should be easier to find a suitable 'container' made from cotton around the house :D

As far as I'm aware, cardboard is rather unlikely to generate electricity... XD

Wood, paper and card have higher triboelectric affinity than cotton.

Then why was my 100% cotton t-shirt crackling the other night when I took it off before bed, with a few sparks visible in the darkness?
