I currently have a fanless HIS Radeon X1650XT video adapter. It's been working very well, but am considering getting something faster. (I don't play any FPS games, so it doesn't need to be a killer card)

I do want to stick with a fanless model, and after a bunch of searching I like both of these:

Sapphire 100255U Radeon HD4670 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102816

GIGABYTE GV-NX96T512HP GeForce 9600 GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125098

Looking at the benchmarks the 9600GT is a bit faster. However: so far pretty much all of my videocards have been ATI, and I've been pleased with them. My biggest question:
Do the nvidia drivers allow you to manually adjust the gamma / color curve downwards like ATI does?
I've come across some intel adapters that let you do gamma correction, but only by brightening the image and not by darkening -- I have no idea what nvidia lets you tweak, and this is a pretty big deal to me.

Sample from the ATI Catalyst control panel:

Without the curve adjustment most cards cause me too much eyestrain for extended use (whites are too bright, etc. There's only so much you can adjust on the monitor itself)

Alternatively, would anyone suggest a different fanless card in the same pricerange?

anyone?

I recently installed an nVidia GTS 250 in my desktop PC and the drivers do allow the gamma to be adjusted down.

Yeah, nVidia lets you change Gamma up or down; I can practically guarantee this, since we have two computers running GeForce, both of which have the same adjustment capabilities.

Thanks for the info!

Does anyone happen to have used either of these two cards?
they seem nice in theory, but that doesn't always translate.
