Letter in today saying free BT Fibre Broadband for myself. Sounded good to me. Just got an email saying prices are going up £2. How is it free when my broadband price is going up?

wtf is wrong with the way people are getting screwed in this country? Braodband aside, they are always looking for something new to tax.

What can we do?

Maybe they're just charging you extra for the brown sugar.


But seriously: Technically, the physical conduit and the data allowance over said conduit can be billed separately. Just like you paid a flat fee to have a landline phone hookup, and get billed separately for each long distance call you made over that line.

So even though converting old copper connectivity to a fibre cable one may be free, the associated internet plan may be billed at a different rate.
