Hi, can anyone recommend a good quality 1920x1080 monitor that is capable of displaying 256 red scales, 256 green scales and 256 blue scales. Must have hdmi.

I'm finding my laptop screen is showing banding rather than smooth gradients.

27/28 inches.

Thanks, Jim.

All the AOCs I've had the 'pleasure' to use had dead pixels.

Have an 24" AOC on one of my test PCs - no problems at all. Pretty good monitors for the money. Main dev PC has a 27" LG (model 27EA33) tho. And I seem to have another LG monitor on the floor next to my desk for some reason - a 24" one, by the look of it.

Yeah, I quite like LG monitors.

After being burned a few times, I've learned to stick with the big brand names for displays. It is incredibley annoying to end up with a pixel that's perpetually stuck on red or green right smack in the center of your screen, especially when watching video or playing a dark game.

Most of the B-brands won't allow returns unless you have at least half a dozen or more dead/stuck pixels, and that's just not a gamble I'm willing to take myself.

A few months ago I bought the BenQ XL2720Z "Gaming" monitor (with optimal refresh rates (100/120/144Hz)):

I took months deciding on a monitor and finally ended up with this one and I'm pretty happy...

Never had a problem with my AOC monitor.

I have an AOC e2450Swda. It's OK but the is one thing I don't like, I sometimes have a Raspberry Pi plugged into the DVI port via HTML adapter and the PC in the other, it takes 10 seconds to change when either port is selected.
