It's the most persistent hard to kill pest I've ever
had the misfortune to wind up infected with.
If anyone knows how to get rid of it let me know.
WHATEVER YOU DO!!! Don't go to their website to see
what it is or anything cuz it will infect you.
But if you're familiar with it and know how to kill it
let me know. It wiped out Spybot(had to uninstall it since it
put it into an endless loop on start up) CCleaner didn't
even see it nor Windows Defender or Malwarebytes Or AVG....
Instructions I've found on the internet don't work either.
If you know, then help me out, but if you don't
THEN BE CAREFUL LOOKING for info on it. I Don't want
anyone else to get this thing.

Thanks

windows System Restore to a point in time before it bit you?

(will roll back installed programs + registry, but leaves your documents/files/etc alone)

Doesn't hurt to try, worst case windows will tell you it's unable to do a system restore and won't make any changes.

(I realize that it's too late for that now, but in general: If you realize you got hit by something, for best results do an immediate roll-back. If you wait or try other cleaner programs first, it lowers the chances you will still be able to roll back. )

After a little reading, it's a browser extension that does some unpleasant stuff, but this guide seems to spell out how to remove it:

http://blog.anvisoft.com/adware-removal-guide/how-to-remove-search-snap-do-virus-from-ieffchrome-snap-do-toolbar-removal-guide/

How far do you get through this guide?
Which OS/web browser do you use?

The one step I missed was removing the "web search" entry.
I guess I didn't realize that was "Snap.do".
I'm doing all of this on FireFox. Hopefully now that will be the
end of it.
Thanks!

My vote is that you can use "combofix" to get rid of Snap.Do
since it is great at deleting browser hijackers.

Combofixt is a drastic program to use, and it sometimes has strange side-effects,
yet it is still worthwhile.

If you have Google Chome browser installed, please record a complete list of all
your installed apps before using combofix, as it unfortunately seems to
wipe out your Chrome apps.

After you reboot from a "combofix" session, then rebooot once more
to enable your internet.

I'm pretty sure it's gone now. Thanks.
