I find that on my living room computer (running Windows 7) that when holding down any key on certain programs freezes or slows down the program until either the key is released or another key is hit while still holding the key down.

It happens with BlitzMax, Blitz3D, a few gaming emulators and some other programs.

I've searched all over google for a solution but with no luck

Any ideas here? I've tried multiple keyboards and with all the same result. This is the only computer that does it :P

I don't remember on which version of Windows this was, but i remember that if i held some keys during too much time, a window was displayed about the "touches rémanentes" "sticky keys" and sometimes it crashed the program which was running.

See :

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-xp/help/using-stickykeys

Maybe your computer is configured to respond in a different way when some keys are held. Or maybe this has nothing to do with your problem. ;)

That is really weird. I once had a computer that didn't like a certain brand of keyboard, it actually wouldn't boot unless I removed it. Are you using a USB keyboard or PS/2?

What about if you type really fast? Is the input lagging?

nope, it doesn't seem to be that. I went in and toyed with the options and still couldn't get anything to work :P

as for the types of keyboards I'm using.. one was wireless (usb) and the other was wired (also usb)

and, yes... on a fresh start-up, the programs just go really slow after holding down a button for that same period of time... I'll take a looka t that link
