Barbarian 3d model

It's been a while since I did anything remotely interesting in 3d, with all my recent Blitzmax educational game programming, so I decided to make a 3d model and put it up on turbosquid (I'll probably put it up on other 3d marketplaces, feel free to suggest any good ones). I put a lot of work into it, I hope you like it. Influenced by "Barbarian", a game I used to play on C64, the model features all-quads clean topology, 7324 triangles and high-res color, diffuse, specular and normal maps. It's perfect for AAA engines such as Unity, Leadwerks and Unreal. I might consider a skinned, animated version, maybe a cheaper lite version for engines such as Blitz3D. Here is a turntable preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-xRRYh-JfM and the turbosquid page: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-aaa-fantasy-character/605369 Last edited 2011 |

Very nice & very reminiscent of the game. Regards |

That looks really good. It definitely looks like you put a lot of work into it. |

Looks great but the fact that its not rigged or animated is going to put most people off. |

The texture looks great, but I think the arms are way too short (even for his artistic proportions). |

Thanks for the feedback guys! GfK: I know, but some companies want to use their own rigs, as their animators are more comfortable and experienced on those. I might make a rigged/animation version as well, as I mentioned. Kryzon: Good point about the arms, thank you! I'll work more on it and post a revised version. Last edited 2011 |

I uploaded the new fixed version I worked on during the weekend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-xRRYh-JfM Apart from longer arms, I improved the muscle definition on some areas as well. P.S: I edited the initial post to include the new video, as I took down the old one. Sorry if it's caused any confusion to anyone reading the thread. |

I see now, the arms fit much nicer with his size. Nice going! |
