I wish I could do this stuff.

plash(Posted 2009) [#3]
Nice work, as always.

Is this still being worked on?
A bit of the texture for the hair is showing:

You probably already knew about that though :D

*(Posted 2009) [#4]
the eyes need work too much red

Ked(Posted 2009) [#5]
I think the eye color needs to be red, not the ... eyelashes?

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#6]
he , the eylashes are unfinished, ie they have no alpha yet.
if you look carefully they are just poly planes

yeah plash the hair is not finished yet.

big10p(Posted 2009) [#7]
Heh, I think ppl are getting desperate to find fault, ruz. :P

maximo(Posted 2009) [#8]
this is looking good, but stuff on your webpage is looking even better.

btw ruz, I've sent you an email, let me know what you think :)

Naughty Alien(Posted 2009) [#9]

Duckstab[o](Posted 2009) [#10]

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#11]
Naughty Alien - you can contact me on mikrusby68@...
I didn't get any emails form you on my other contact email. weird

Duckstab - cheers, but I am too lazy to do anything right now:)

Kryzon(Posted 2009) [#12]
Geez, I looked at some of the textures you make for your models...really lovely stuff.

Where did you learn to paint them? the clothing...the skin. (I'm almost sure I've asked you this same question before...)

Do you use a tablet or mouse only?

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#13]
cheers kryzon. I use a wacom intuous for my textures and use the smudge tool a lot.

Kryzon(Posted 2009) [#14]
Oh, figures!

Thanks for the info and good luck with your contracts.

_PJ_(Posted 2009) [#15]
It's very good, and certainly way better than anything I could hope to do.
I do wonder about the furrowed brow, though. I can't help thinking it's perhaps It's rather deep, so he looks deeply troubled, or sneeringly cynical - perhaps that's intend of course, I have no idea of the character's personality.

I especially like the dimples from the bnose to the corners of mouth, the lips and subtle crow's feet. Is that texture or part of the mesh?

Kryzon(Posted 2009) [#16]
...so he looks deeply troubled [...]

I think it's a woman =X

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#17]
haha malice I hope you never end up in manchester as you might be in trouble:)
the texture details like wrinkles etc are part of the normal map
furrowed brow is intentional, just to give her a bit of a grumpy look

Matty(Posted 2009) [#18]
Reminds me of someone who works at a local cafe around my area.
Good renders.

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#19]
more stuff

Kryzon(Posted 2009) [#20]
She looks more feminine now.

Reminds me a bit of Angelina Jolie, around the eyes (in that frontal view).

EDIT: If I can critique a bit, I think you need some work in the Specular Map department. Her face looks a bit oily, I don't know. It's one of the very few things I can spot in your models.

GIB3D(Posted 2009) [#21]
Looks nice. She doesn't look mad anymore :)

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#22]
Kryzon - yeah I bumped up the spec a bit too much, but really to get proper skin , you need a proper shader with Fresnel and other jiggery pokery

oddly enough i did refer to angelina a little , but I try to steer clear of likeness as that is all it will be judged on

cheers - GIA_Green_Fire_

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#23]
added a new image of my zbrush model. been improving it slowly

Wiebo(Posted 2009) [#24]
You have too much talent... now be off!

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#25]

been re working this past few days. design needs a bit of work still

D4NM4N(Posted 2009) [#26]
You have imasculated him! poor man! :O

Wow, fanastic heads and body modelling.(I was about to critique and say that the head at the very top was a bit androgynous but the second posting of it in #19 you can clearly see it is a woman :)

Well done!

As wiebo said, you've far too much talent and are showing us all up! ;P

GfK(Posted 2009) [#27]
I hate you.

(not really)

Ross C(Posted 2009) [#28]
Awesome awesome stuff. However, what is it with the body suit thing, people like to put on their characters?

D4NM4N(Posted 2009) [#29]
It is armor, because if the human body underwent a fraction of the beating it does in a game it would be pulp.
-Probably would be anyway, but it makes it a little more "believable" :D

slenkar(Posted 2009) [#30]
all those models are awesome, except I dont like the oversized shoes on the last one

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#31]
cheers guys, yeah the boots are quite big on the last guy. might shrink them a bit, not sure.

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2009) [#32]
Really nice but the Male of the human species does not look like that - neither does the female.

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#33]
yeah but so what, its fantasy. reality is boring:)

_Skully(Posted 2009) [#34]
You know what they say about people with big shoes...

They're clowns!

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#35]
actually its his feet that are big not his boots:)

GIB3D(Posted 2009) [#36]
Big feet

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#37]
is that your image?. looks nice

lil update

GIB3D(Posted 2009) [#38]
Are you asking me? If so, no it's not my image. I just searched google images because I remember Sora's (from Kingdom Hearts) feet being really huge.

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#39]
ah ok. yeah big feet are quite common in games. I knocked mine down slightly though. perhaps they were slightly distracting
