Not showing for me, I get an internal server error.

plash(Posted 2009) [#3]
Same.

puki(Posted 2009) [#4]
Early pic? He's been working on the game for like 10 years - he's worse than "Shagwana".

Hiss - boo.

Stevie G(Posted 2009) [#5]
Agree with "puki" must have been 5-6 years since you started this and it doesn't seem any further forward. Get your finger out !!

Shagwana(Posted 2009) [#6]
/me pokes puki in the eye, cant rush perfection

as for the image, i cant see it either.

plash(Posted 2009) [#7]
Whole lotta no perfection going on in here..

Warpy(Posted 2009) [#8]
my surname's Perfect, if that helps with the perfection.

Matty(Posted 2009) [#9]
No image. But I guess you knew that.

Yes I do agree it has been a long time in production but in that time I have done several builds, lots has changed in a real-life sense. I am now getting there for the final language of the game.

Yes the game is being coded in BlitzMax for v1.0 this will allow me to move forward at a better pace than learning another language and using that, but for later versions I would like to go C++ but thats a way off yet.

Uploaded pic somewhere else :)

No cheeky 'cease and desist' from Braben yet? :P

Ginger Tea(Posted 2009) [#12]
i would have thought that was why it was in development hell labled as the blitz communities own duke nukem forever

I have permission from Bell and Braben to make the project, and none of em has said otherwise yet.

There is a difference, if you sign up to the alpha team you can actually test each stage of development. Duke Nukem Forever doesnt have that. ATM there have been over 43 seperate tests for the alpha team this was different stages and different systems and diffent programming languages.

Yes we have finally returned to max as it has the most broad appeal and easiest to code for cross platform programming.

Ginger Tea(Posted 2009) [#14]
glad to hear youve got a seal of aproval 'ark ark' i remember this from the blitzcoder days (kinda) and had forgotten about it as you were quiet about it. cease and desist have killed many a good remake with no official one in sight

Elite 4 is supposedly in production but nothing solid has emerged yet, the thing is Elite Multiplayer has to be exactly like Elite just with more than one player. To get that feeling is not an easy thing to do with a huge game like Elite, adding multiplayer is more than hacking the Elite exe and adding networking. I want players to be able to select thier faction, ship etc.

Ian Thompson(Posted 2009) [#16]
Cool, that's a first, I've seen so many other Elite projects killed off by David Braben using his mighty +9 club of legal injunction...

Xaron(Posted 2009) [#17]
Great EdzUp! I follow your work for ages now. :D Keep it up!

I'm glad to hear that Bell and Braben gave you the permission. I guess it's because it is non-commercial?

Looking forward for a public beta. ;)

Naughty Alien(Posted 2009) [#18]
..Hi EdzUp..i admire your consistency in working on your game..I fully understand what does it mean make one since i had hell past 2 years with mine, and im just at finish corner, but still, its huge and hard path..anyone who keep it up that path, and not giving it up, deserve support..so do you..keep it up mannn ;)

_PJ_(Posted 2009) [#19]
Really great to see this is still coming along , especially with some of the hassles you've had in your worklog.

*(Posted 2009) [#20]
yeah but now im part of a programming group I have loads of testers so I should finally be able to complete the project :)

boomboom(Posted 2009) [#21]
You must really have loved elite :) I wish I had this much dedication to something.

ford escort(Posted 2009) [#22]

MadJack(Posted 2009) [#23]

Can you change it to single player please?

;-)

boomboom: yes it was one of my favorite games, System Shock being the other

elite was really a great game, i played it on my amiga a lot :)

ford escort: yup me too, alone with the zx spectrum, amstrad cpc 464, c64, BBC, IBM PC ive played loads of them. IMHO Nothing can beat the Amiga version Elite+ for the PC comes a close second tho (this is the one im aiming for)

Can you change it to single player please?

MadJack: you can host your own private server and play alone if you want :)

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#25]
pardon my stupidty, but was elite done by david braben,

I used to work at frontier and every day I would sit outside the building at

lunchtime on the grass.

David Braben has a greyhound and it would piss on the tree as it walked past me.

kind of the way I feel frontier treats its employees:)

puki(Posted 2009) [#26]
Yes it was - you have asked that question before.

Ruz(Posted 2009) [#27]
did I? , must have have been a little drunk or something :)

puki(Posted 2009) [#28]
I may even be able to dig up the evidence.

puki(Posted 2009) [#29]
I'll let you off.
