Hi guys,

I just recently finished writing a SSAO and here's the results:
on vimeo (better quality):
http://vimeo.com/2716403
on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RY_lfHzQrAQ

There is no pre-computation or baked textures, it is all done in real time and running at fast speed. At a resolution of 800x600 with RT shadows and skybox, I get around 90fps with SSAO and 108fps without SSAO (I know ur gonna say I should test with ms instead of fps but its easier to describe on layman terms)

800x600 on the top of what tech specs?

HNPhan(Posted 2009) [#3]
AMD 64 6000+, 4Gig Ram, 8800 GTS 320MB, Windows XP 64bit

..hmm.while things really looking nice, i must admit, its not that fast for given scene size and tech specs..what is underlying renderer or game engine you use anyway?

Jerome Squalor(Posted 2009) [#5]

I draw the AO on top of everything to show it; behind it, there's normal maps lighting, shadows and animated skybox, etc...
yes I use LE

GfK(Posted 2009) [#8]
Why is everything an eye-scorching white?

HNPhan(Posted 2009) [#9]
because its the AO pass to show the effect

I also like your "first prototype" video, the way the trees cast their shadows on the crawler looks very good.
