Does there not being any pics qualify as 'wrong'? ;)

Amon(Posted 2008) [#3]
lol!

D4NM4N(Posted 2008) [#4]
They would look better if they had some pixels :D

ford escort(Posted 2008) [#5]

Naughty Alien(Posted 2008) [#6]

Nate the Great(Posted 2008) [#7]
haha you sound like me talkin to my mom now... "I forgot... I know that was the only point of doing this in the first place but I forgot."

lol!

Naughty Alien(Posted 2008) [#8]
..okay ya nasty boyz :) i have uploaded it..im sorry for confusion..

Zeotrope(Posted 2008) [#9]
Nice stuff man!

Although I never understand the use of bloom or glow. Maybe tone that down a little as makes things a little 'out of focus'

The water fountain is a little odd.

On the up-side, these shots are really great. Nice work!

Water- DLL?

Jerome Squalor(Posted 2008) [#10]
this is stinkin' amazing!! i wish i had modeling skills like this! great stuff...

plash(Posted 2008) [#11]

Same here!

I like the scene, but not the overkill on the effects. Just slightly turned down from the last one..

Naughty Alien(Posted 2008) [#12]
@Plash
Thats very true, if only pic is in sight but in motion is very different..i think I have to upload some fraps file or something..its really different in motion..

John Blackledge(Posted 2008) [#13]
aagghh! I give up!

markcw(Posted 2008) [#14]
Perfect 10/10. Best graphics I've ever seen in Blitz3D.

Luis de la Cruz(Posted 2008) [#15]
Very good work. Looks pretty!. I thing it's better project in blitz. I want see some fraps file. What about water (I think you use Fast Lib), shadowmaps and lights? Blitz3d or BlitzMax? How many fps moves all? How many polys in a scene?

GfK(Posted 2008) [#16]
Looks nice but drop the effects. They spoil it.

Hotshot2005(Posted 2008) [#17]
Look Great but some of them are Blurs I think. I agree with GFK.

Ked(Posted 2008) [#18]
Looks awesome!

sigi(Posted 2008) [#19]
This is not B3D, is it? The first two skyboxes are from Irrlicht Engine?
Looks fantastic. What Programs do you use for creating your levels?

Gabriel(Posted 2008) [#20]
In terms of level design, geometry, (most of the) texturing and lighting, it's exceptional. I would have to agree that the glow ruins it for me, and I'm not sure what's going on with the ground texture in the top two pictures. It looks like you've got something trying to make it look bumpy, but it's actually making it look very, very flat. It stands out like a sore thumb because most of the texturing is excellent.

On balance though, it's the excellent lighting which makes the scene look so good, so you would do well to rely on that instead of the glow, in my opinion.

stayne(Posted 2008) [#21]
or you could just do what you probably already plan on doing and make glow an option. I think the shots look top notch except for the aforementioned photo-realistic cobblestone texture.

Sauer(Posted 2008) [#22]
This project has looked good from the start, keep up the good work.

Naughty Alien(Posted 2008) [#23]
@Sigi and Luis
Tools used are 3dsmax, Photoshop
It is scripted within B3D environment, but not B3D rendering(thats why its on graphics, rather than Blitz showcase)
Regarding level size, smaller one is about 96K polys (not shown here) and highest one I have is 230K polys...FPS is quite okay and never drops under 40 on my 7600GT..in total i have 34 quite big levels..

Im not quite sure how come normalmaps on first 2 pics making floor flat..I think most of failures I hear about so far will be easy to understand once i post video since its way different in motion...but again, i am very happy to hear constructive suggestions as you guys did so far...thank you a lot..

Luis de la Cruz(Posted 2008) [#24]
Thanks for the info Naughty. Is the style of the game RPG, Arcade, Adventure? Have you some image of a protagonist or enemy of the game? Definitively, for when more information in the web (and video)? The logo of the web is very good.

Naughty Alien(Posted 2008) [#25]
..hey Luis..game is kind a mix between dreamfall and tomb raider, 3rd perspective fantasy adventure game...I will post next week main character as well as some other(actually there are 5 main characters, player can control, but one controlled most of the time is 13 years old girl)..ill post renders of all of them as well as some NPC's (I have about 40 NPC's done)..I hope you guys will like it..

Matty(Posted 2008) [#26]
Looks very nice, and the sky(box) suits well.

Ross C(Posted 2008) [#27]
What are you using to render the scenes? And what will they be rendered in when your playing?

Looks absolutely fab. Love the skybox. Did you model all this yourself?

Naughty Alien(Posted 2008) [#28]
hey Ross buddy...Im not quite sure what exactly you mean by this >And what will they be rendered in when your playing?< since all shots you see are real time captured...only 4 levels so far are not done by me..some textures i bought, some i did from real photos..anyway here is toolset involved:

B3D+Horde3D wrapper(not entirely completed)
3dsmax
Photoshop
CrazyBump

i hope it helps..

Trader3564(Posted 2008) [#29]
i dont like the game title "naughty games" cause it seems you may then expects some different content. lol :P but other than that, these pics are truely amazing. i would say makes a nice game when its done! just awesome.

puki(Posted 2008) [#30]
Well, I must say that this is all looking terribly sexy to me.

Will the bubble burst when you fill the levels with characters and animals?

SabataRH(Posted 2008) [#31]
The bloom/glow, to me, makes the entire scene look great. Some have commented that it should be toned down, I for one would leave it just as you have it. The dreamy/hazy atmosphere is perfect for games, after all games are fiction and require one to use some degree of imagination.

Horde3d wrapper for blitz3d? is this your personal wrapper or is there a commercial wrapper available ( or on the way ) for the public?

I'm a long time fan of horde3D but never considered it being wrapped in this way. Very nice!

Ross C(Posted 2008) [#32]
Ah, so they are in game shots. Even better. Where can i find out more about this wrapper your using? Very impreesive :o)

Mortiis(Posted 2008) [#33]
Looks great, but I can make that water and the postprocess with FastExt.

Kryzon(Posted 2008) [#34]
Did you lightmap your level in 3DS Max? If so, would you kindly consider posting a thorough step-by-step procedure on how to do it, for the sake of the community's n00bs?

Naughty Alien(Posted 2008) [#35]
..hey Ross buddy..I will release wrapper after game is done for free..

@Kryzon
there is no lightmaps on level..its shadowmaps..but i did finished GIM maps in 3dsmax and use them for non movable objects to gain better lighting quality..it does require same procedure as lightmapping, but size of the GIM map is way lower and not affecting performance..Ill may post how I use and control GIM's (same was as you will do with lightmaps) if you want it...give me few days to go back, im not on my place right now..

xlsior(Posted 2008) [#36]
Those shots have a great atmosphere, and a very consistent style. All too often people end up with individual buildings that look pretty good, but don't really go well with the rest of the scene -- Very professional looking.

I like the idea & implementation of the zeppelin docking pads.

Kryzon(Posted 2008) [#37]

GI, that's exactly what I want. Ok, please do so!

dmaz(Posted 2008) [#38]

I second that.

jhocking(Posted 2008) [#39]
These shots look fantastic! And I was wondering how you made such nice water in Blitz3D; y'know I had pretty much disqualified Horde as a useful option for me, but now I think I'll give it a second look.

D4NM4N(Posted 2008) [#40]
VERY Tasty!

one tiny and barely relevent critique would be that it would be nice if the cobblestones had some variations like drainage depressions, mosaics and dirt (no streets are that clean... except singapore but thats a freaky city :).

Blitzplotter(Posted 2009) [#41]
Very impressive - I second all the positive comments - with quality of this ilk you could give microsoft a run for its money with it's Fable 2 product. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Nice_But_Dim(Posted 2009) [#42]
whoo! very nice and Naughty.

Pardon the pun.

Closer look at the posts it is not B3D shame.

Looks good tho.

Hopefully the characters from this post are in the game.

these are pretty cool man.

tsmpaul(Posted 2009) [#44]
Wow! Those are really impressive pictures. I'll keep my eyes out for more of your work!

jfk EO-11110(Posted 2009) [#45]
Very nice. Some textures are still repetive (ceils etc.). I can imagine how the gloom looks on water reflections... great stuff.
