Mermaid for Candy World

This mermaid(named Sénipya) appears in Candy World and especialy in Blue Ocean area...

New ennemies
Lacking a bunch of ennemies, Candy World will now get new ennemies... I've started making many ennemies with 1 or 2 1024X1024 textures... Here it comes

Wacky Wood Mask

This mask took me 2 hour to complete and implement into the game... I used special texturing with 3DstudioMax 8 and 9... new ennemies will come in the week !

The mask in game, they actually are guardians sent by PicPic to stole the sphere... Dont
worry, Xylvan Protect the sphere !

Space Noob

This is a space noob for the game Candy World, it appears in the farm level of Candy World

Creepy Stone Mask

He appears in the animal cimetary level in Candy World... He's very scary !!

4 models in 2 days... I'm up remaking doctor Picpic Model to make him more realistic...

Picpic got finally remodelled from scratch
I've totally remodelled Doctor PicPic from scratch... Let's see

Before

After

PicPic is the evil scientis who killed Candy and made Toopy fall in a deep sleep(Toopy gots back and was always crying for his ancestor Candy)... He created every nasty creatures in the world of Candy World... He must be defeated...

He wants all animals dead...

He's a kind of sorcerer : He injects a microchip in the neck of little and big animals which become nasty to avoid Candy's revange... Just only few animals dont become nasty : the lillies (said one lilly / many lillies)

The lillies are little animals not affected by the chip, the night they lives in dreams and help Candy defeating the nasty boss... They Are so lovely !

The mermaid
Holy crap. What is wrong with her face.

The wacky wood mask
Looks like something I'd see in Majora's Mask. I kinda like the look of it.

The space noob
I'd try texturing it again.

The creepy stone mask
Jeez! I thought this was a kid's game?! Let's tone down the PG-ness a tad.

What is wrong with her face

I think that picture was taken just after Xylvan explained to her that she will be starring in Candy World...

He never learns..

InvisibleKid(Posted 2008) [#5]
the mermaid actually doesn't look too bad from afar but the close up of the face scared the bejebus outta me ( is it suppose to look like that or is it a uv error?)

i like the masks i think they look interesting. i really like the first and last one.

LOL... I will make her happier if I ask her if she want being the girlfriend of Xylvan ;)

Look at the end of my first entry... I've added some new stuff...

Doctor Picpic will be nicier now !

LOL - the Mermaid has a nose in the middle of her forehead - wouldn't want to wake up next to that!!

JustLuke(Posted 2008) [#9]
Haven't you been told to stop making new Candy World threads, Xylvan?

Mark Tiffany(Posted 2008) [#10]
The nose might be less than pretty, but that's nothing compared to those freakily pointed lop-sided funbags...

If you stop spamming the forums with this stuff, I'll give you my sister.

Actually, no I won't, cos I don't have a sister.

Anyway... why does the mermaid seem to think she's a teapot? And why is she on land? And I don't remember Daryl Hannah being such a minger. Perhaps you should base your model on her, rather than Peggy off Hi-De-Hi?

Slightly worrying, however, I suggest you save that idea for your next sequel, Red Lights and Wet Dreams...

Agreed. this is begging to resemble spam now. In future Xylvan, please contact me before starting new threads on the Showcase forum.

Si.
So, did you contact Si before posting this round of spam?

Xzider(Posted 2008) [#14]
Hes not spamming the forums, hes posting images for models thats for a game. This is the graphics showcase, show some respect.

Models look creepy. Need better textures. And faces... Whats up with her boobs?

Ginger Tea(Posted 2008) [#15]
the mask with hands is cool
not too sure if i like the face i just love the fact that its got disembodied hands

mermaid WTF ?!? might as well have a red dwarf mermaid theyre better looking ;)

GfK(Posted 2008) [#16]
If this particular post gets locked, it will be because some of you people are assholes.
....and not because some johnny-come-lately decided to open his potty-mouth and swear at everybody? o.O

D4NM4N(Posted 2008) [#17]
Why is it spam? Its his own thread about a game made in blitz :/

I like the creepy mask, that is quite cool in a contemporary way, but i dont like any of the others... at all.

GaryV(Posted 2008) [#18]
The dude on the bottom looks good.

Moraldi(Posted 2008) [#19]
If you stop spamming the forums with this stuff, I'll give you my sister.

When Si says showcase, it's obvious to me that it covers 'Blitz showcase' and 'Graphics showcase'. It's not spam because of the content of this post, it's spam by virtue of the continual posts on this one game in the showcase forums, often when little or nothing has changed since the last post.

show some respect....
some of you people are assholes
All from the same mouth. Oh sweet irony.

obviously if you don't like xylvan or his threads don't post in them,
i'm tired of seeing alway the same complaints about his work

all his threads goes in flam war because some of you don't know when it's time to stop.

also he show some NEW graphics in the graphics showcase... so it's not spam like showing again and again the same game...

i understand that you might be upset to see 'LOD' again and again and again
but OMG, just ignore the thread, look at the others that are not LOD related...

i think it's not fair.

Ginger Tea(Posted 2008) [#23]
without searching for LOD images im pretty sure the angels looked quite good, yet the current batch of human(oids) has taken a back step or 10, or were they done by someone else?

edit:
and the "lay a circle of flowers and candy will apear" thing
i cant remember if that was an animated intro or not but if it wasnt it would be a good part of the level progression

kinda like collecting chaos emeralds in sonic, you need to end the level possesing that levels flower
only after collecting x ammount of flowers will candy be resurected and a playable caracter
if its not like that in the game as is it should be, it would give you some form of a goal (mini goals the flowers massive goal candy)

Xilvan(Posted 2008) [#24]
Cool idea Ginder Tea, I'll include it in the next version of Candy World

KillerX(Posted 2008) [#25]
What are the polycounts of the models?

chwaga(Posted 2008) [#26]
The models look heavily turbosmoothed...which is bad. Xylvan, if I were to be so rash as to give you advice, here it is:

When making humanoids, be VERY careful with their structure. It all too often helps to have a photographic or otherwise proportional reference handy. Unless you're doing a low-poly RTS model, NEVER box model organics. Save box modeling for props like cabinets and tables. Furthermore, a model should never have to be turbosmoothed to look good, in fact, turbosmoothing oftens makes models look even WORSE. Also, get your topology to fit your model. Bad topology too often ruins models. Watch your sharp edges (like those on the masks). Also, make sure your textures FLOW perfectly. Blurring isn't enough, there must be noise and color bleeding to make a skin texture flow. You should also use polygons and textures prudently, a necklace might be a good place to actually add polygons, because things like those flat look terrible. For humanoids, polygonal detail MUST go into the face, otherwise it will look terrible. As for UV's and texturing, be VERY CAREFUL on laying out your UV's. Avoid projecting from views, as that is a poor solution more times than not, and lead to ugly seams and incorrect distribution of pixels. Cut your seams where they are needed, and hide them well with textures. It often helps to apply a checkerboard texture on your unwrapped model to make sure that everything is distributed correctly (a common professional workflow method).

Hope that helps!

I agree. To be blunt, dump this rubbish and get whoever did the angels back.

p.s. The fact you posted these makes me more convinced this is some elaborate wind-up. The only other option is these are a work of genius unappreciated in their time.

chwaga(Posted 2008) [#28]
lol, ya, but then there was that maniac 'modern composer', who for a concert played the song Three Minutes. In this song, he sat down at the piano and waited 3 minutes, then stood up and walked off the stage.
