i know it's not the most complex scene you've ever seen, but it's pretty and makes a good background picture, so 'ave it!

I was thinking of a different picture all together, darn rednecks. ;)

mtnhome3d(Posted 2008) [#6]
heres my version. now i'm gonna play around with displacement!

mrtricks(Posted 2008) [#7]
If you have the facility to give the picture a very shallow depth of focus, and maybe motion blur, it would really come to life.

Nice, Zmatrix, it reminds me of the Doctor Who intro sequence lol. Although, you made the mistake of using textures rather than procedural materials, and thus you have pixelation (on the vein wall) and mapping artifacts (on the cells). Anyway, here's my new one:

...did anyone else notice that it gets blurred like a DoF effect in the back?? I never put that in...(/shifty eyes)

I did a media free blood screen saver!

Intentional or not the DOF looks good, an even smaller focus would probably look even better.

very Nice screen saver Rob, looks good

DOF takes 8-12 times the rendering time (without using photoshop), which for a 1680 x 1050 would be HUGE :(

This could be a cool game:
- add a submarine in there.
- add some baddies to kill. :o)
- call the game Innerspace (like the movie)
