Hi

Here is a new screen of tachyon storm :) one day i'll
release it :) :) :)

PS : Just ignore the crap skybox :) And the mapping is
not temrinated. It's just a test !

slenkar(Posted 2007) [#2]
very professional looking,
what type of game is it?

LineOf7s(Posted 2007) [#3]
It's a Match-3.

Pretty eye-candy, Mr Filax. Very pretty.

Filax(Posted 2007) [#4]
The game type is not very defined :/ But i think to
a RPG/SHOOT with XP and maybe trading.

Thx : LineOf7s :)

xlsior(Posted 2007) [#5]
visuals are somewhat "Stargate meets Babylon 5"

Looks nice, though!

Matty(Posted 2007) [#6]
Very good. Like to see how it plays.

Filax(Posted 2007) [#7]
I'll release a viewer demo soon :)

Lui(Posted 2007) [#8]
this looks awsome

it´s reminding me a bit on "Homeworld 2" with the ships and the jumpgate^^

they are looki´n like the battlecruiser of the "Hiigaran"
as you see here
just the texture is different

Nathaniel(Posted 2007) [#9]
Pretty. Some of the edges on the red and grey ships look sharp. Can't wait for the demo.

Filax(Posted 2007) [#10]
Lui : You are right ! Homeworld and X3 reunion and Eve online
are my references :) Here is the screen used to make the
jumpgate :

Bubble Boy : Sure ! smoothing groups are not defined :)
it's ok now :)

caff_(Posted 2007) [#11]
Looks awesome! Make a proper shooter like the original X-Wing!

Filax(Posted 2007) [#12]
I'm trying my friend :) i'm trying :)

ImaginaryHuman(Posted 2007) [#13]
It looks pretty good, although could be better if it were fully antialiased.

It also reminded me right away of Ullyses31, that cartoon, which was great.

humanspacecraft(Posted 2007) [#14]
Very convincing spaceship design!

Mikele(Posted 2007) [#15]
Awesome! I like it. My dream: Frontier Extended version.

Filax(Posted 2007) [#16]
Mikele : I agree ! :)

Many thanks for comments !

Pete Carter(Posted 2007) [#17]
id offer to help out but your models mainly the texture maps are better than i can do, so ill shut up. keep up the great work.

- SPOKE -(Posted 2007) [#18]
Wonderfull Filax !!!

My dream X3 on the net with lots of players.....

Mister Spoke :)

Bouncer(Posted 2007) [#19]
Yeah, those spaceship models look very detailed and nicely designed. Great job Filax.

impixi(Posted 2007) [#20]
Yes. Good job, Filax. It looks like a game I would like to play.

Filax(Posted 2007) [#21]
I'm working (not textured yet) on a space station :)

puki(Posted 2007) [#22]
"filax" you are my best froggy friend - hand it over.

Finish that texture first though. No rush, tomorrow is fine by me.

Filax(Posted 2007) [#23]
I'll try my friend :) oops ! froggy friend :)

puki(Posted 2007) [#24]
Before I forget, I am due a BCF upgrade - best you sort it or your little froggy legs might separate from your little froggy body accompanied by a loud snapping/splintering sound and a bit of froggy juicy spurting about.

Chroma(Posted 2007) [#25]
Filax, what 3d modeler are you using and how do you preserve smoothing groups?

I'm using milkshape and I can't get the smoothing groups to stick when I export to .b3d.

Pete Carter(Posted 2007) [#26]
i have to use unwrap to redo the smoothing before converting to a .b3d.

i must say this game look amazing the models are great

Lui(Posted 2007) [#27]
thats looking incredible!!!
but how many polys does the spacestation have? it looks like much...

Gabriel(Posted 2007) [#28]
I'm using milkshape and I can't get the smoothing groups to stick when I export to .b3d.

If you're using Mark's b3d exporter, that'll be the problem. It doesn't export them. I can remember requests for it going back at least a couple of years, so it probably won't get fixed unless you fancy having a go yourself.

Filax(Posted 2007) [#29]
Chroma : Using 3DS MAx and i made smoothing group
one by one, and there is no problem wih 3D Pipeline
and export.

puki : Sorry but i don't understand very well ? :)
can you clarify the delirium with frogs? lol :)

Lui : It's not optimised for the moment, but i turn around
9500 poly for the station, i hope go to 8000.

Chroma(Posted 2007) [#30]
So does anyone know if there's a pipeline that starts with milkshape and ends with a .b3d with smoothing groups intact?

Gabriel(Posted 2007) [#31]
Well Ultimate Unwrap has a great B3D exporter and it has some kind of MS3D plugin ( among many others ) so that's probably your best bet. There are probably a few other formats that Milkshape and UU can both use, so hopefully one of them will work without the need to redo the smoothing groups. .X or .OBJ perhaps?

Ross C(Posted 2007) [#32]
Frog's, when relating to french folks, is usually an insulting term. Visuals look AWESOME!

Filax(Posted 2007) [#33]
Ross C : Ah ok... Very constructive ... :) Thanks for comments

Chroma(Posted 2007) [#34]
Thx Gab...gonna experiment right now.

.Squid(Posted 2007) [#35]
Where is the demo?? I can't wait!

Filax(Posted 2007) [#36]
I'm finishing my game vectory before :)

And for the moment, i'm trying to understand how the new
langage Cobra (http://www.squeakyduck.co.uk) work :)

See ya :)

Stevie G(Posted 2007) [#37]
Hey Filax, that look good - especially like the look of the menu's. Assume this is done in bmax?

Filax(Posted 2007) [#38]
Yes it's some Bmax :) The gui is another GUI made
especially for games.

D4NM4N(Posted 2007) [#39]
Nice (as are the rest) :)
Ive been waiting for this one.

Its Bmax?, which engine are u using?

Paul "Taiphoz"(Posted 2007) [#40]
can I ask what the size of the ship texture is ?

Filax(Posted 2007) [#41]
For the moment textures are 1024 but the real size is 2048
under photoshop.
