Hi folks!, Im a AC3D user and creating some cartoon style cats for a demo I am working on. I am having trouble modeling the hands, feet, a simple three toes.

I put a post on the AC3D forums but the responses are very low there if at all, so I thought I would ask my new friends here.

Would you use a subdivided box or a cylinder? Could someone post a little how to? Thank you!

Personally I'd use a box, subdivied across into 3, extrude these one or two divisions to give the 3 toes, then shape them accordingly (taper at the ends, flatten the end slightly etc..), then subdivide across the rear of the foot to allow a tapering rear at the heel, then extrude the rear section upwards to create the ankle / lower leg.

Then, smooth and sculpt any areas that are too blocky.

OK, this is a really simple 5-minute job (hope this is not insultingly-simplistic) but here you go:
File is here if you want it (AC3D version 6):

Box with 3 subdivisions:

Extrude toe and shrink each extrusion:

Repeat for other toes:

Shape toes, cut across top at rear for leg extrusion:

Extrude ankle and leg, shape ankle:

Set smoothing (crease) angle to 180:

Without edges:
