Wings3D is such a great product. Starting to get the hang of the advanced menus -- i.e. bend etc...

These are just 3 of the 25 (currently) Blibs.

dam, i wish i could use wings3d better. all i can do is use the bevel, etc things on a primitive but i can't figure out how to export!
do you have any tips on that, BoiledSweets?

Boiled Sweets(Posted 2006) [#4]
How to export? To 3ds?

Simple! Just select File/Export/3D Studio

A good Wings3D tutorial page:

You can do some cool things with Wings. The workflow is super fast. I made these with Wings from simple primitives w/ extrusion.

Nice stuff Markd. It's kinda hard to get into but when you do it's as you say, super fast.

I love it's simplicity yet awesome power. Oh did I mention the cost? £0, $0, €0. Yup, ziltch.

Sounds like a good modeler to add to my collection:)

Ah these latch onto the head/face I assume?

Boiled Sweets(Posted 2006) [#9]
Well no you shoot the crap out of them in a space environment.

ok, i open wings3d, right-click, select "cube", then select "file">"export">".3ds" and save it.

now i import the ".3ds" in another program (anim8or) and, it works! hmm, so why didn't it work last time? anyway, duh! thanks.

also, they do look a lot like face-hugger aliens!

i took a quick look at wings, is it any good? Its one of the few modellers available for linux and up till now ive been using blender.

Is it better than blender for quick models ie characters?

Boiled Sweets(Posted 2006) [#12]
Define 'better'. I found the Blender interface hard to get used to but I'm sure once you do it's quick to model things and does more than Wings.
