EDIT:

We decided not to sell the actual code nor sounds, but the models are available at:
http://polycountproductions.com/fantasygamepackage/

Thanks for reading.

----------------------------------------------

Would you be interested in buying models like here? Along with game code.

Info: http://polycountproductions.com/packages_abyssfire.htm
Movie: http://www.polycountproductions.com/movies/02.avi (1.2 megs)

(these aren't in-game images - but rendered in max. To see some in-game screenshots visit the package website)

Our team has created lots of animated models etc. which we don't need. Would you be interested in buying this stuff for your game? The licence would be non-exclusive (meaning: you can use the content in your game, but others can buy this package as well).

If you would be interested, could you suggest a price? I haven't decided that yet - but I'm going to keep it low so that as many blitz coders as possible can use it.

Any questions? comments?

EDIT:
Here's a "small" movie: (1.2 megs)
http://www.polycountproductions.com/movies/02.avi
(shows little bit of animation, in-game graphics and movement)

Mmm, I'll take a look - but they may be a bit too 'cartoony' for me.

EDIT:
Oh, I thought the picture was just a selection of them and there were more on the website - alas, they are too 'cartoony' for me.

Still, they look good for more arcade type games - sort of have a cutesy look to them.

They're very well done from what I see. Too cartoony and fantasy for me as well, but I'm sure there is a market for it.

That above render gives a somewhat false impression of what they look like in the blitz screenshots. Any video's of the animations?

.

Alienforce(Posted 2006) [#6]
I would like to see more details regarding the code and animations.

Braincell(Posted 2006) [#7]
They're very low poly, something you'd expect in an RTS. $30 for the whole?

I mean i wouldn't buy it, just sort of price you'd expect, but i might be wrong cos i didnt see them all in action. If they're well animated they could be worth even $50 together. Non-exclusive.

Pete Carter(Posted 2006) [#8]
very nice. i was asked to this sort of stuff ages ago but got a bit side tracked with my transformers game so its great someones done some :O)

scribbla(Posted 2006) [#9]
great style

the render does'nt show it off enough perhaps a bit of code to show each one off in real time might help

but love the style :)

Example code:

(shows one function on left... and naming of functions in the right side...)

Thanks for the comments folks. And yes - I'll put a note that the "rendered" image is not IN-GAME (although there are in-game screenshots in the website...)

Notice:
- This package is not just those models - the package contains also the code, items, terrain gfx etc.

Here's a list taken from http://polycountproductions.com/packages_abyssfire.htm

* 6 different fantasy characters: mage, goblin surgeon, troll, dwarf, elf, knight, mage (.b3d files format, 512x512 .png for textures)
* 10 different animations: arm crossing, 2 death animations, rifleshot animation chin rubbing, 3 running animations, head scratching, and one spell animation (.b3d files format)
* 5 different items: rifle, scalpel, shield, sword and torch (.b3d/.3ds files format, 128x128 or 256x256 .png for textures)

@Pete: can you tell me *who* wanted stuff like this? I would love to hear...

@Lenn John: Yes, they are low poly so that you can see more than just one on screen ;)

Any other price suggestions than Lenn's $30 ($50)?

Gabriel(Posted 2006) [#12]
Bearing in mind that the Blitz community is notoriously cheap ( or poor ) I think you would be hard put to shift any at more than fifty bucks. If I were interested ( I'm not really, but they're nice ) I would probably pay more, but most won't. In fact, I rather suspect you will make more money selling at $30 than you will at $50, as I think more will buy at 30.

It is nice stuff though.

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2006) [#13]
Ahhh, memories. I remember working on this game way back in 2003...

gameproducer(Posted 2006) [#14]
Cheap is good. I'm thinking $10, $20 and $30 for options...

Indiepath: yeh, especially the XML gui system... ;)

RifRaf(Posted 2006) [#15]
I think ill buy this.. very nice. Do you have them in other formats as well ? .MS3D by chance ?

gameproducer(Posted 2006) [#16]
Sorry... only those formats as listed at: http://www.polycountproductions.com/packages_abyssfire.htm
