This is the time of the month when you need some feedback. Here is one the enemies from the Tecno Base :) A walking video (300kb), apart from the shadows, the rest is just texture work: http://www.freewebs.com/tecno-itb/imgs/enemy_2.mpg (better if you right click->save target as...) and screenshots within the game: |

Very nice! Glad you're still working on Tecno, chances of a new demo? :) |
| ||
Wow! it's looking really good :) I'd like to see a demo too! |
| ||
Nice screen's there. |

Thanks guys, yep I'm still getting crazy working on it ... ... I don't think there will be a demo before final release ... it is just too much work to compile a demo, the code can not be easily broken into pieces for a demo ... so if I compile something it will surely get a MAV trying to access something it is not loaded ... |

cool stuff |

Great walking video there Eurythmia. The texture work is all really great work. I now have 3 questions about the robot, 1. do you have any more animations done yet? 2. is it not a little big/tall? compared to human height. 3. will we be able to shoot off its limbs and 'frag' it? that would be cool. :) |

i always look forward to something from the TECNO side of the galaxy... ciao Paolo :) --Mike |

@Muk, 1. yes actually, ground enemies can walk, run, crouch and in this case this enemy has the ability to stick himself to the roof so he can attack you from there... 2. may be, but I prefer bigger robots :) 3. you can count with that, it was a pain to program but the enemies can be destroyed by parts; you can shot arms, head or chest to cut them into pieces, also they will attack you different depending on the limbs they have ... You might be right Mike, the game-development looks like an endless galaxy :) |

Hey the enemy model looks much better than surroundings. Maybe you should add some sort of detail (3d or texture) on the walls. |

Do I get this right, these are the shadows we'll see in the engine? They look great! The enemy model is also well done, tho it's kind of harmless, I can't see any guns, not really shocking like eg. doom3 characters. Nevertheless well done. Maybe you only need to add a chainsaw :) as if bots would choose chainsaws.. |

Lenn, Well, some of the walls are a little "flattened", it is a matter of how much stuff you can load into blitz until you get a slowdown, having particles, enemy-AI, ragdolls colliding with "huge trimeshes", and more ... ...you have to be careful with what you load into complex scenes, if not you can easily end up killing the fps, specially with high-res textures ... Jfk, I hope you are not talking about the shadows in the video, the video is a rendered one, but if you mean the level's shadows then yes, this is how the game looks running in basically any PC with at least a 32mb video card. This enemy shoots you bullets and grenades from the front side of his arms, might look interesting during the game, but I like the idea of the chainsaw :) |
