Here is some screenies of Jetpac millenium, my latest project. I only have my test level at the mo, but eventually thre will be about 20.

Any old men or women remember the classic?? :)

Ooh... that looks great!

Looks fantastic. I like the way the terrain is not smooth shaded so it looks like polygons. And definitely good that you can see your feet in the fps view.

D4NM4N(Posted 2005) [#10]
lol, the terrain was smooth shaded, but giles decided to lightmap it flat! but i kinda like it too :)

aab(Posted 2005) [#11]
Looks completely awsome.
i like the clear cut polygon look also

Looks fantastic man. Can't wait for the demo :D

Ross C(Posted 2005) [#16]
What program did you use to do the landscape?

D4NM4N(Posted 2005) [#17]
i used my own program TED which is still in development then lightmapped it in giles

Yeshu777(Posted 2005) [#18]

markcw(Posted 2005) [#22]
what happened 2 ur site D-Graphix,
"this domain has expired!"

D4NM4N(Posted 2005) [#23]
lol long story, my hosters got the email address with the registrar wrong, then i couldnt transfer it because they were trying to get permission from the wrong email, then after an expensive call 2 the states was told that the guy no longer supports my hoster, then my email had problems, and blah blah blah.

Still, i think its working ok. unfortunately i now have 2 wear a wig :)

markcw(Posted 2005) [#24]
oops, u are D-bald-Graphix now then. :X

oh well, hurrah! the site has returned. :)

i like the look of ur Jetpac project though.

the character actually reminds me of the
Exile character more than Jetpac, but
maybe thats just me.

here's a suggestion, you could generate levels
instead! that would be very good for playability,
and save you some time in level design.

a few random heightmaps and random object
placement would do it. what do u think?

D4NM4N(Posted 2005) [#25]
hmm, interesting idea.

I may be searching for a comprimise here, due to the nature of the game, i think more levels would be much better, and quick level creation is always good. Im thinking of using a more basic system of maps (height, placement etc) which can be produced very quickly.
Only problem is i would loose the lightmapping :( unless i can find a way to quickly lightmap it on the fly. The terrain is no problem, its the things like platforms, trees, alien buildings and other weird static structures that will be very hard to lightmap quickly. Also i may loose that nice squared poly look :(
