just been messing with this for a few days. I aim to get more in to high poly modelling.
the plan is to create a normal map for it and get the low res version up and running.

Looks great.

That can't be all the mesh? How many tris? Looks fantastic!

"Nice bike."

nice work..the ears are very well done, i know these can be a real pain, what package do you use Ruz

too shiny ;)

Ruz(Posted 2005) [#7]
maya, though you can do this technique in any package thats supports sub d.

yup too shiny ;)

Rook Zimbabwe - the low poly mesh is about 1600 tris, the sub divided or 'smoothed' once

Ruz(Posted 2005) [#8]
should have pointed out that the top image is the subdivided one, the bottom the low poly base

Jono(Posted 2005) [#9]
I'd love to see this textured and animated. Looks very professional.

Mustang(Posted 2005) [#10]
Great looking head, very pro! Define "low-poly"...?

Rook Zimbabwe(Posted 2005) [#11]
Note to self: Learn more about SubD...

jfk EO-11110(Posted 2005) [#12]
well done - are you doing this for your job or private?

Ruz(Posted 2005) [#13]
cheersjfk, this is my spare time work. I just wanted to get back to doing some high res work after so long doing low poly stuff.
This head will be my base from which I will make other types of head including female.

Damien Sturdy(Posted 2005) [#14]
Nice work, though a human head is never symetrical.. Still, Looks great!

Ruz(Posted 2005) [#15]
hey , my head is totally symmetrical mate ;)
yeah the symetry is there because its going to be animated.

If I did a non symmetrical face it would be harder to rig

aab(Posted 2005) [#16]
great.
reminds me of the guy who played batman in the first two movies...Alot!
