Looking for 2d Artist (paid work)

I'm looking for a 2D artist/illustrator to complete a series of 10-15 illustrations for a new version of our game 'Wonderland'. These would be used as background for "story" screens at certain stages of the game. Payment would be a one-time flat fee per illustration, work would need to be completed by the middle of January.

My main concern would be to find an artist with a style that fits with the sweet (some might say sugary) world of Wonderland. To get an idea of what the characters and in-game style looks like, please peek at http://www.midnightsynergy.com/returntowonderland

For a shot of the two main characters, Stinky and Loof, see

As you can see, a comic-book or even children's book style might be a good fit. I'm thinking of colour illustrations, but I'd also consider stylized b/w art.

If you might be interested (or know someone would might be), please contact me at infos"(ye old 'at' symbol)"midnightsynergy.com. Please include a link to a portfolio of some of your previous work, as well as an idea of what your rate would be.

In fact, if you want to do a quick pencil drawing of, say, Loof (the little one) and send that along that would be great (but obviously not necessary). Heck, you can even enter it in our art competition at http://www.midnightsynergy.com/comp/0401 while you're at it. ;)

Thanks in advance,
Patrick

I am interested, but do you speak a little french ? I am not very good in english, and we must speak the same language to know exactly what you want. I made ( amateur/indy ? ) comics. I'll try to see in one of my CD to find some of my scaned work.

I speak English :), and, according to my classmates, am very good at 2D art, as well as most 3D. If you would consider hiring me, that would be wonderful.

I'll send along my picture as soon at it is ready. Do you want it done on paper or on the computer?

Contact me: steven@...

Don't know how you missed this:

Oh, sorry.

I'll get an e-mail to you shortly, Midnight.

Got the picture done - I'm scanning it in.

Thanks for various replies.

Reno: je parle un tout petit peux de Francais, mais pas tres bien. (so language shouldn't be a problem) If you find some scans, just e-mail me.

Digital Fortress: thanks, looking forward to seeing them.

Midnight(Posted 2004) [#12]
Thanks all for further replies.

Jonathan - i'll get back to you in a few days.
Bob3d - do you have an e-mail/website that I can contact you at (for either now or the future?)

Hi, I have written you now. (I don't post here my email as I prefer not to do so in a forum)

I can't dedicate time to it now. Not till I have ended the other stuff. But I'm an illustrator, usually specially inclined to get traditional(paper, even if later scanned and digitally re worked) drawing tasks (all those above are coloured by pencil colors, but the fact is they could have just been retouched and saturated with digital painting: I just didn't in those cases.I also colour by computer)

And as I see, you release these kind of games often, so I guess illustrations, also for packaging, splash screens and those, are an usual thing you have to make.

Just a note of thanks to everyone who responded (and I'll reply via e-mail too), the "position" has been filled.
