Weekly Modelling Competition: Military Vehicle

Your job is to model (not texture) a military vehicle. Be it a jet, jeep, tank, submarine, etc.- whatever floats your boat (those are allowed too). They don't have to be real nor do they have to be limited to any particular timeline. Go nuts!

No polygon limit, no texture requirements.

I don't know about whether or not I'll be entering myself, but this is something that should appeal to beginners (as organics are usually challenging for them).

Deadline is the 17th.

Made this a while ago with DeleD

I'm entering this one!

N(Posted 2004) [#4]
Really cool stuff there, granada.

Pongo(Posted 2004) [#5]
You should edit the post to contain a deadline for this.

...

N(Posted 2004) [#6]
Done.

GW(Posted 2004) [#7]
can someone host my picture? I dont have any public webspace. :(

N(Posted 2004) [#8]
E-mail it to me and I'll stick it up for you when I get on my regular PC.

wizzlefish(Posted 2004) [#9]
I'm doing a "SCUD Missile Launcher" - much like the V2 and V3 rockets seen in the Red Alert 2 series.

N(Posted 2004) [#10]
GW's vehicle:

danjo(Posted 2004) [#11]

nuclear submarine

maximo(Posted 2004) [#12]
Way too many polys in that submarine.

wizzlefish(Posted 2004) [#13]
But there isn't a poly limit.

GW(Posted 2004) [#14]
LOL!
I suspect that the Submarine started out as something else...
Slap a conning tower on it and fill it with sea-men.

Bump.

Come on, there's gotta be a few more people interested in this.

Tyler(Posted 2004) [#17]
I'd be all over this if I weren't freelancing like crazy at the moment. Good stuff!

Jim Teeuwen(Posted 2004) [#22]

393 poly's. (Click image for more shots from angles and wireframe)

Jim Teeuwen(Posted 2004) [#23]
And a second one. @ 282 poly's.

And a 1049 poly space Battlecruiser.

WolRon(Posted 2004) [#24]
Wow, a lot of participation on this one.

N(Posted 2004) [#25]
It was Ion-Storm's idea for the subject- he picked a good one.

wedoe(Posted 2004) [#26]

Ion-Storm(Posted 2004) [#28]
Can I suggest for NEXT comp, that ALL models are created For the COmp, not old ones you have lying around?

N(Posted 2004) [#29]
Tought decision here: Yavin or Ion-Storm. Sorry to say, Ion, that I'm going with Yavin's as it has a lot more 'feel' to it. Yours feels too flat in comparison.

Ion-Storm(Posted 2004) [#30]

N(Posted 2004) [#31]
As you can see, Ion is a tad sore.

Pongo(Posted 2004) [#32]
I knew I should have entered this one, but I wanted to create something new for the comp. this one is 3-4 years old and a frame from an animation.

granada(Posted 2004) [#33]

N(Posted 2004) [#34]
Can't say I have, granada. Checked my junk and inbox folders, so nothin' arrived yet.

You got MSN Messenger or something? Would make it slightly easier to contact you if you need to talk to me.
