It would be easier if you provide some original pictures of the weapon.

looks like you have a few bits of tearing, aside from that it looks nice :)

Ok, this one is pretty interesting:
http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-weapons/vickers.htm

But as I see the original used watercooled barrels, a thing that is kinda missing in your version.

Hi guys there a lot of diferent versions out there, the original picture was in black & white with not a lot of detail.I just wanderd what it would look like textured thanks anyway :)

(EDIT)
(But as I see the original used watercooled barrels, a thing that is kinda missing in your version.)

I might ad this to this version looks cool.

there isnt a vickers that dosnt have a cooling chamber on it, they used water or sand to cool them if they didnt the barrels warped.

Just found this

The basic ground gun on which all other marks were based. This had two main variations the first being the Mk. I* which was an adaptation of the original for air service.

(It was modified through the removal of sections of the water-cooling jacket so that it would be cooled naturally by the cold air flowing over the barrel.)

The trigger mechanism and receiver were also modified to allow the fitting of the ‘interrupter gear’ used on fighter aircraft to prevent the stream of bullets from the MG from hitting the propeller blade by stopping it from firing when the blade was in the line of sight. A variation of this was the Mk. I* SU which was fitted with a special muzzle booster and a buffer spring that increased the rate of fire significantl

(a lot of diferent versions)

Vickers .303" Mk. I
Vickers .303" Mk. II
Vickers .303" Mk. III
Vickers .303" Mk. IV
Vickers .303" Mk. V
Vickers .303" Mk. VI
Vickers .303" Mk. VII
Vickers .5" Mk. I
Vickers .5" Mk. II
Vickers .5" Mk. III
Vickers .5" Mk. IV
Vickers .5" Mk. V

Well, basicly just take some black painted metal that is kinda weathered, that's how it looks IRL IMHO. Maybe there are some details, near the muzzle there's a significant screw. plus the other details you skiped due to lowpoly.

And this version without the watercooler barrel coat is probably lokking a lot cooler. I don't know how this has to work for you, but I would try to map the barrels at least with spherical reflection to make them look real steelish or chrome-like. If you use a texturename like "metal_REFLECT.bmp", you could then parse the file in Blitz and if you find a surface using a texture with a name that includes the string "_REFLECT", then you could set up the spherical reflection automaticly. Well, this is the way I handle special texture jobs with my models/levels (eg. Water caustics with "_WATERMAT").

I gave it a try, but I really wasn't very lucky with all the machine parts. Anyway, here's an example on how to use spherical reflection on the barrel and muzzle. The bb source is inside the zip.

Needless to say that it looks best when it's in motion, eg. in the hands of a FPS player 1 (tho that's a pretty heavy thing to carry with you :) )

Thats realy cool :D,thanks a lot jfk

Nice Texturing Job. At least the reflection makes it look pretty!
