CyBeRGoth(Posted 2004) [#6]

Chibi means anything small and cute.

CyBeRGoth(Posted 2004) [#9]
Kawaii chibi faces are best!

CyBeRGoth(Posted 2004) [#10]

Now she has a face :)

googlemesilly(Posted 2004) [#11]
yay! ... she's complete ! :)
looking good ! :)

Anthony Flack(Posted 2004) [#12]
Nice! I think everything chibi is kawaii by definition ;o)

dangerdave(Posted 2004) [#13]
Looks good!

Hopefully she won't poke her eyes out with those hair locks!
;)

What type of game? Is she one of the player characters?

skn3(Posted 2004) [#14]
looks cute, id suggest maybe tweakign the mouth.. looks a bit out of place.

Very cool model though. I wonder what the game is gonan be like :D ?

googlemesilly(Posted 2004) [#15]
what about a ^ nose ...

Bouncer(Posted 2004) [#16]
That model looks ace. Great work. I ecspecially love the hair.

gellyware(Posted 2004) [#17]
Nice model. Only criticism I have is that the shirt sleeves and face are smooth and the shoes resemble the hair. I think the shoes should definately be smooth like the face. Just my opinion. Good work~!

googlemesilly(Posted 2004) [#18]
now ... what's her name ?

CyBeRGoth(Posted 2004) [#19]
Thanks again

don't worry skn3[ac], she will have lots of different faces, expressions etc, this is just a quick one i knocked up, she looks like she's sad or something, dont know about giving her a nose, some characters can get away without them.

her name? ... Betty? :P Nah I dont know yet

The type of game is an RPG, she is the main character, all I can say is the game is a blend of traditional Japanese RPGs, the Feebs and Harvest Moon :)

IPete2(Posted 2004) [#20]
Wow!

CyBeRoth, she looks wonderful! She's right out of something like Crystal Chronicles.

I really envy your talent - nice one.

Looks spot on. No criticism here.

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#22]
rally nice, ideal for a games character. How many polys, can we see wireframes?

CyBeRGoth(Posted 2004) [#23]
Cheers :)

I think the characters in Final Fantasy CC look about 100x better tho!

Here she is as a wireframe (650 polygons)

Genexi2(Posted 2004) [#24]
> dont know about giving her a nose, some characters can get away without them.

Most chibi's can get away without them. :-/
(jeez...chibi's, the only proportional style I cant draw very well)

Anyway, nice job overall, just the lower part of the face (cheeks and below) look awkward to me though. O.o

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#25]
I think you can lose a few polys in the face, since most of the work is being done by the texture.

Just in case anyones interested a good way to display wireframe on a model( in 3dsmax anyway) is to clone it , apply a 'push' modifier, set the parameters to about 0.1 or 0.2

Set the material of the clone to a mid grey and set is as wireframe.
then render

poopla(Posted 2004) [#26]
Don't give her a nose, looks great as is.

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#27]
Q My charatcer has no nose , how does she smell
A terrible

(tu) ENAY(Posted 2004) [#28]
Yes, it doesn't need a nose.
