First here's the concept:

Now the explanation:
- Each grid (the grid of coloured things) can be any size, but mostly small 3x3,4x4,5x5,6x6
- each grid has a name (UNAD, MEDINA, etc)

Here's what the grid represents:
- each square on the grid is a seperate 3d map (so a 3x3 grid could have up to 9 3d maps)
- the filled yellow square is the map where you start, the hollow yellow square the map where you end (the position you are on will pulse)
- black squares are a map
- red squares are no map. So in UNAD there are three 3d maps (the 3 black grid squares)

movement from one grid position to another
- to complete a 3d map, you get to the flare. This transports you to the next position.
- some maps may have more than one flare
- each flare takes you to a different map.

(this sound really complex to describe, but i think it's quite simple in practice?)

- a completed map will turn the corresponding grid dark yellow

extras
- the ball denotes a 3d map will have a ball on it
- the grey blocks with arrows are maps too. They have a switch which must be turned off
- the direction of the arrow points to a map with a forcefield. you won't be able to complete that map until the forcefield is turned off

what are your thoughts?
