Games website, eager to get some feedback

Community Forums/Graphic Chat/Games website, eager to get some feedback

Hi all,
I've finished updating my site (took over a year). Although most of it was backend php coding, I did give it a little touch up design wise.
I'm not very good at designing though so I would appreciate some feedback on what you think.

Site: tfgdb.com
About: tfgdb.com is a large database of free to play games, no pay games are allowed! Its an open database so anyone can add games to it, edit existing games, review games and add artwork. But its all moderated so its also safe for users to use. Currently at 784 games!

Thanks in advanced for any feedback :)

Can I ask, if you add a game do you upload to you're web space?

Look nice, plain and simple(so easy to see) :)

I would add a tagline somewhere, containing what "TFGDB" actually means. I only found out via your "about" page, which itself is hidden away down the bottom. And even then it didn't mean what I thought it meant (Totally Free Games DataBase).

Nothing really to add, other than that.

@Stevie G
I'm afraid we don't upload games to our web space.

@GfK
Very good point, I'm definitely going to need to fix that :)

Dude, that is awesome! No bs, just an archive of any and all free games you find on the internet? Very cool. It's one of my few bookmarks.

Some of the servers for the games are out of business though. Can you somehow gain the ability to host all the files yourself? I'm sure the designers wouldn't mind a little extra exposure since they seem to have made the games exclusively for people to enjoy anyway.

Also, I'll do some free mainpage art for you if you want.

Hi, this is great to find your site, tfgdb.com. I particularly like flat 2D games.

{ Can get it from this website: http://www.christofferhedborg.com/creations/ }

Enigma http://tfgdb.com/Games/594/Enigma/
{ I've played Enigma before, several years ago; It's definite one of my favs, but it's hard. }

Quadrax 6 http://tfgdb.com/Games/872/Quadrax%206%20-%20Treasure%20of%20Atlantis/
{ I tried the Quadrax series before; these games are so incredibly hard that I just let them sit there, ..almost never played. }

You can also get Quadrax 1,2,3 from these other links....

Don't ignore the facebook, youtube, ebay, et cetera factor here. This is a site that could absolutely go "viral" as they say these days, I guess. I'm a little out of touch, but I know enough. My friend Joseanna makes and tries to sell jewelery to people she knows. So her son made her a website. I was like, "A... website? As in, 3 people will probly see it?" So I told her about etsy.com. What I'm saying is, this could easily be the next etsy of free indie games. I personally love knowing that I can now go play one of hundreds of free indie games anytime. Try to get it in the millions next. Aren't there millions of indie game designers? I don't know, but I would think so, cause that would only be like .0001 percent of people, I think. Anyway, if that is the case, make this the next "only site to go to" for millions of free indie games. Tony robbins said, "Success leaves clues." Meaning read books by the makers of those huge sites I mentioned. "Do eet! Do eet nowoo!"

Yeah, but free? This person seems to have spent a considerable amount of time scouring all kinds of sites like that for just the games that are free. That's the novelty of it that I think gives it such an edge.

By the way, how eager are you for feedback, Tom? You haven't posted in a month! I guess you're pretty devoted to working on the site instead.

PhotonTom(Posted 2013) [#11]
Hey, I'm still here.
I'd love any and all feedback :)
