3DS -> B3D converter - preserve child mesh info?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a program that can convert 3DS to B3D and preserve all the child mesh info such as position, rotation etc.

All the tools I have looked at so far either only export as a single mesh or change the position of the child meshes to position of the overall mesh.

..and before anyone says UU3D won't do this.

Do you use 3DS Max?

Importing 3ds often results in "exploded" children, they are moved away from their position somwhow. Ths is usually caused by some pivot offset imcompatiblities in the way 3ds max works.

You may however export them with children in CharacterFX, at least I remember so. If they load correctly, they should also be exported correctly. I successfully imported multi-children 3ds and animated some of the children in a rotate/move/scale way (vs. the bones animation normally used in CharacterFX). Well, it's a couple of years ago, so I can't give any guaranties.
