I have an animated mesh which exports just fine as an animated mesh, but I want to export some static frames from that animation. I have it rigged with the Skin modifier, and attempting to export it as a mesh just exports the reference frame, which makes sense, but that's not what I want here. Is there some way to export the animated pose at a given frame or to perhaps bake that pose into a static mesh?

its simple Gabe..just do right click on to your SKIN modifier(it should be already in stack) and choose COLLAPSE from pop up menu...then click yes and its done..your character will be in pose you want to(previously before collapsing move animation slider on to pose you want)...character mesh will be separated from bones after collapsing so just delete bones and export your mesh as a static on in pose you want..I hope this helps

Ack, so simple, and I never thought of it. It works perfectly. Thanks, man.
